I'll tell you who else isn't rated by JDT from today's comment....
"We saw last season where it was really important and we had a great season, it was terrible not to have a senior striker when it was all about winning and getting a goal in the end. Now the situation is probably even worse but that is the situation."
Hang your head in shame Gally.
He meant when Gally was injured. Are you moonlighting as a Sun/Mirror journalist by chance?

So despite playing 39 matches our supposed senior striker scored just 8 goals. If that is enough for you I can tell you it isn't enough for me.

Dont know if anyone else went yesterday - I did and a few things of note for me were

Trav playing in the forward mid field role - Is going to be a liability, and he played like he wanted to be sent off. (or sold?)
I would maybe try it the other way around with JRC and push him forward - he looks like our only player with any vision at the moment......and he isnt a defender....way too slow. Trav in a defensive/enforcer role might be our best option if he is staying/playing

We looked very exposed down the flanks and even though it was a friendly Dolan and Markanday offered nothing defensively...and in truth very little going forward either, a target man might help because both look shit scared of whipping the ball in

By the end Szmodics seemed to have dropped in behind Pickering at left back?? - we didnt use a sub until 85min when Ennis got on??
(Surly he needed longer from a fitness point of view? - it felt a bit like a box ticking exercise by JDT - there are rumours he doesnt rate Ennis?)
Leonard looked like what he is, a kid finding his way, but finished like a goal hunter which will be good for his confidence

A good game for a friendly, and there was a bit of needle mainly caused by some pretty awful tackling by Trav in particular and
a massive well done to the fans who worked hard to generate a family day, judged on the fact the attendance was double from the last time we played them - a great success

I know its a friendly and they were/are a decent team, I left feeling concerned though. we are very lightweight both in physical stature and experience

How did the Norwegian play.
He grew into it
but he is small, and he played a more defensive role - and judged on yesteday he needs someone with a bit of bite next to him
he looked off the pace but hopefully that is just a learning curve fitness thing
Why JDT played Trav in a more forward role (again) baffles me - he holds on to the ball far to long and just gets forced out or mugged

I didn't go to the match but from what I've read the Rovers old problem of possession and 'over passing' in the last third is still a problem. Speed deceives as defenders hate swift attacks and we constantly allow far too much time for them to get marked up, turned to face upfield and organised. The only possible benefit to be gained is if we had a midfielder with a real shot on them along the lines of De Bruyne / Lampard etc and we all know Trav isn't that man.

Gallagher and Hedges out for 4-6 weeks with hamstrings.
Hmmmmm........ Anyone suspect the rumours that Gallagher is for sale on the quiet? 4-6 weeks takes him out of the frame and avoids injury until the deadline runs out.

I was disappointed both Buckley and Adam Wharton were in the Stockport team,to me they both should be starting. With our squad already depleted through injuries,I think we need our best players on the pitch.I think we may have to play 3 at the back, till players are back.
Gk Pears
CB Wharton
CB Hyam
CB Carter
Rwb Rankin Castello
Lwb Pickering
Dm Travis
Mid A.Wharton
Mid Buckley
For Smodicz
For Dolan / Leonard.

Your midfield makes more sense to me playing Travis where his 'get it and give it' strength can work best.

I think everyone is for sale at the right price atm.

Beware!
Obviously a new initiative to stop people sitting in the corporate areas. Here are the spoilsports in action v Walsall when there were no corporates and 80% of the ground empty.🙄1692443851147.jpeg
