Dont know if anyone else went yesterday - I did and a few things of note for me were
Trav playing in the forward mid field role - Is going to be a liability, and he played like he wanted to be sent off. (or sold?)
I would maybe try it the other way around with JRC and push him forward - he looks like our only player with any vision at the moment......and he isnt a defender....way too slow. Trav in a defensive/enforcer role might be our best option if he is staying/playing
We looked very exposed down the flanks and even though it was a friendly Dolan and Markanday offered nothing defensively...and in truth very little going forward either, a target man might help because both look shit scared of whipping the ball in
By the end Szmodics seemed to have dropped in behind Pickering at left back?? - we didnt use a sub until 85min when Ennis got on??
(Surly he needed longer from a fitness point of view? - it felt a bit like a box ticking exercise by JDT - there are rumours he doesnt rate Ennis?)
Leonard looked like what he is, a kid finding his way, but finished like a goal hunter which will be good for his confidence
A good game for a friendly, and there was a bit of needle mainly caused by some pretty awful tackling by Trav in particular and
a massive well done to the fans who worked hard to generate a family day, judged on the fact the attendance was double from the last time we played them - a great success
I know its a friendly and they were/are a decent team, I left feeling concerned though. we are very lightweight both in physical stature and experience
