Amos off.... presumably to avoid a red card.

Lenihan booked now.

Already yellow carded Chair off now. Tactics are obvious but from my armchair with no link I notice the possession stats have reversed.:worried:

Just gonna say Ewood Park! You could have had my ticket.
Thanks, pal but I have a season ticket. I'd just forgotten all about the game and was still in Preston shopping at 6:45 pm so having spoken to father decided to watch the game on sky or so I thought!

If I were to be ultra critical in what was overall a decent display I would say:

1. we gave away a soft goal when our defence was all at sea
2. we missed a sitter from 1m out to make it 2-0
3. overall our attackers had few chances
4. Gallagher was played out of position again
5. why did Benni come on when it should have been Rankin-Costello
6. Holtby was on his knees after 70 mins and should have been subbed earlier
7. Tosin was woeful in distribution about 5 times.

However a good professional performance topped by an excellent goal by Armstrong and decent performances from Darragh, Tosin (despite the above comments), Ryan, Amari’i and Joe. Gally also put a shift in and did not hesitate to drop back to defend.

A deserved win.

2. Sitter missed because Armstrong (I think) was ball watching and hadn't 'gambled' by chasing a lost cause. A low cost feature of 'proper' strikers play e.g. Suarez, Aguero, Vardy, Kane etc.

4. Gally did miss a sitter which would have made it 3-1 I noticed on the Sky vid.

5. Was Rothwell subbed at HT through injury or tactics? Sat at home in my armchair I thought if Rothwell's off then surely Downing goes left wing, Armstrong right wing and Johnson in the middle with Bennett staying on the bench.

7. Tosin.... Good managers will be aware of his (John Stones) style and reluctance to hoof it by now and will be pressing him and closing him down quickly. Lets hope the City scouts were watching as they profess to.;)

Overall a good result against a team who can be a banana skin ... as cardiff and LUFC have discovered in the last few weeks. We ARE punching our weight in this division even if we won't have enough to finish in the top 3. Lets be honest this has been our frequent situation since the abolishment of the max wage in the 60's and obviously discounting the Walker years..

The sitter we missed at 1-0 would have been snapped up by Dack. Armstrong's was a great finish and his awareness and confidence is growing. Thought their equalizer was well worked, wasn't it.

QPR manager Mark Warburton must be spewing at our second goal. Darragh barely had to leave the ground at the far post. He said QPR "...just lacked, a bit of guile, that little cleverness on the last pass, the last cross, the last touch, to get the rewards."

Welcome to the Championship pal!

A really good win last night and another welcome 3 points . I have to say I’ve been critical of the soft underbelly of TM’s Rovers teams and so I love it when they win ugly , especially after the Rolls Royce performance at Sheffield . Good teams tend to do stuff like that .

The youngsters Lenihan and Travis exude fight , determination and bottle . Three characteristics I love to see in a football team .Travis in particular is becoming a marked man in this division- all credit it to him for that !

I eulogised about Travis last season. I just couldn't understand (and still cant) why Mowbray took so long to play him in the middle. Nice to see this season that he's carried on where he left off. In midfield he is a colossus, frequently dominates his opposite number and of late has been targeted for the rough stuff by the opposition coaches.
His weakness is in the creative department, he doesn't really spot a forward pass early enough and his shooting is below average......... and I for one hope that is how it stays!!!! If he learns those two skills he won't be here 5 minutes.

Forgot to post the highlights last night.
Though I'm sure everyone will have watched them by now, here they are anyway
Dreadful lack of urgency and commitment by Tosin for their equaliser. TM makes a big issue of getting players to defend e.g. Rothwell, Chapman, Dack, Reed etc. Might be he has a quiet one to one with Tosin this week.

He must have learned it at Citeh. They are pretty casual at defending.

i had a terrible link and i thought we did enough to get over the line,i read in the telewag we have the same number off points from the same games as last yr,but then we went on that horrendous run.Im still confident of promotion every team can lose no outstanding team,i thought WBA were but there worse than leeds atm.
