I'm leaving early Saturday
I want to be a part of it
New York, New York
These Doc Martin shoes
They are longing to stray
Right through the very heart of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city
That never sleeps
And find Rovers king of the hill
Top of the heap
These small town blues
They are melting away
We’ll make a brand new start of it
In old Rotherham, New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you - just follow the Blues
New York, New York
New York, New York
I want to wake up in a city
That doesn't sleep
And find the Rovers number one
Top of the list
Head of the heap
King of the hill
These little town blues
They've all melted away
I'm gonna make a brand new start of it
In old New York
And
If I can make it there
I'll make it practically anywhere
It's up to you, just 3 points Blues
New York, New York
New York
As you can see from the above our very own BB has moved on from ditties (with a ‘d’ not a ‘t’ you cheeky lot) into mainstream song writing. Do you think I have a chance of making it big in my new career?
So it is off to New York, Rother-ham, England, UK on Saturday for yet another early start with Rovers featuring in yet another Sky live game. Why oh why are we on the telly so much, it can’t be for the quality of our football . I am going to have a word with her indoors and see if she will release me from decorating the bedroom with the promise that I will whisk her off to New York for a few hours of unadulterated joy.
I quickly Googled Rotherham to seek information on what the South Yorkshire metropolis has to offer. Low and behold it has some of the best grooming parlours for miles around. So good are the reviews, and a focus on the detail, that I have decided to take our 5 year Popsie along, it is only £32 for a full hour session and that includes a bath with perfumed shampoo.
Popsie goes to Rotherham for a nice trim
Highly recommended for a home visit, available 24/7
A word of warning about the locals, they are known for their rowdiness and drunken antics and should be avoided at all costs. The women are worse than the blokes. The Subway network is particularly dangerous on a Saturday as the party goers make their way home after a Friday night on the town. The Broadway area is especially grim. Alternative transport is available.
Why take the subway when you can travel by trolley bus?
A typical Friday night scene in New York. Alice has ‘borrowed’ BB’s undies
Rotherham fans celebrate a goal by having a party
I am hopeful that JDT will extend our Championship winning streak to 2 games and we can start puling back some points in our quest for top spot and automatic promotion to the Holy Grail. I am growing more and more impressed with the attitude of our very own Danish Smurf. He has worked wonders with Dack and JRC and all we now need is a proper striker and a hard man enforcer in midfield.
JDT’s teamtalk for Rotherham: “bring it on”!!
The local girls have heard a lot about our superstar Bradley Dack and are gagging to see the superstar appearing in New York. They went bananas the last time he girded his loins in their direction.
The local girls can’t get enough of Dack
As for the game it is going to be a hard one. Rotherham always play a tight game and it is up to the Blues to take the game to them and press right from the start. This is a winnable game for Rovers and I am predicting a modest 3-0 victory for our boys.
Love, BB
