Rovers All Time XI

Not really sure about your intent here tbh. I can't get beyond a proper 'All Time Best'.

Great start with Brad Amo but with the exception of Tugay it's all downhill after that! I presume we are sticking as you have to the Walker years. RSC before Shearer??? Thompson before Duff??? No room for Sherwood either? I get the reason for the Amoruso inclusion but you are taking loyalty a little too far.... in fact light years too far! I'd put any of Hendry, Berg, Samba, Nelsen, Short, Ooijer before old Lorenzo. I liked Warnock too but tbh he was some distance behind Le Saux

Like who? All jokes aside, Amoruso is a little 'unorthodox', I'll give you that, but the rest were all quality for Rovers.
Presuming that Bentley and Santa Cruz are there for their first stints at Rovers. In their second stints its fair to say they'd easily make a worst XI to play for Rovers.

Friedel
Hird Hendry Nelsen Le Saux
Clayton Tugay
Douglas Shearer Garner Duff

To be fair , although I couldn't leave out Garner, I might have put Bellamy in as his replacement.

We are spoiled for choice all over the park :)

Berg Hendry Nelsen Le Saux
Ripley Sherwood Tugay Duff
Shearer Jansen

Dunn, Samba, Roque, Bellamy, Sutton, Benni Mc, Flitcroft, Bentley, Friedel, Wilcox, even Batty and Yakubu would be close to it. Makes you weep reading the list of players we've had over the last 15 or 20 years.

Misty eyed sentimentality not being my weakness I'd have to say that there are any number of far better players than SG to pick from. Namely Fred Pick, McEvoy, Sutton, (Bellamy for certain sure) Benny Mac, Andy Cole, Jansen, Archibald, Yorke and of course the incomparable David Speedie! How I'd have liked to see him up top in 92 with Old Big Ed! That would have been the original SAS!

Johnny Price and Macnamee in that team????? Not in a million years surely?

btw Poor Johnny didn't last long, he died in his early 50's.
