Bloody love that.

I'll never bring up that Al was slating him 1.5-2 years ago in favour of getting Joe Nuttal in (...oops!) :) But I've always been a big believer that Graham was key to our short to mid term success. I'll fully admit his attitude hasn't always been there but its a lot easier to fix attitude than to fix ability.

What it needed with Graham was for him to get into the mindset that everyone around him wasn't rubbish. As soon as we signed Dack, that was job done.
I think signing Mowbray who made him reduce with trouser size by a couple of inches and then who signed Dack was the biggest influence. I/We moan about Mowbray's selections and tactics from time to time but his professionalism, managerial skills and football basics are above reproach.

Says a lot of people would come back if they said: "We got it wrong”

Picked this up from the LT’s report from last night ( thanks WB ) , one fan talking about Venkys

If Venkys apologised tomorrow, what is a “ lot of people “ ? How many extra season tickets would Rovers sell ?

Tens or Hundreds or Thousands ? I’d hazard a guess, if an apology was forthcoming , and say perhaps tens . If Rovers got back to the Premier League , with or without an apology, I’d guess definitely thousands .

Reassuring that Venkys promise to continue to finance the club . Thank heavens we aren’t in Bolton’s situation.

Graham sounds like a very happy bunny in this piece too

I've learned over many years that talk's cheap amongst the stay aways.

Well done to those supporters and especially the ones who made the away trips in late Feb/ March.

I've often thought how good it must be supporting a club from Brum / East Midlands area. Everywhere is within striking distance of a good hour on the MWay isn't it?

Villa just squeaked through on penalties. Poor old WBA as again the team with fewer points but better form wins through.

Phew! Rovers still in the history books along with Bury (and now city) as holding the FA cup final record of scoring 6 in the final.

A mention here and not one that we wanted!:worried:

No idea if that's kosher but the fact remains that the costs of football are too great and there is an inability or in some cases reluctance of many club's supporters to fund them.
As I've said and over and over again there are simply too many football clubs to survive. If football was invented today there would be no more than 30-40 clubs across the land as the business model for 92 simply doesn't work.
The press and media play a massive part in undermining lower Division football too by concentrating on and glorifying the Premier League and in particular the top 6 or 7.

As Dylan wrote "the times they are a changing" and fast. The car industry is feeling the draught as fewer and fewer 17-30's can be bothered or more likely can afford to own a car whilst us older un's do fewer miles per year. So too with many other things that are struggling to survive the modern world. Supporting the local team became a religion for my generation but it isn't for increasing numbers of today's youngsters.

They'll remember that day forever! Mind you so will Jack Firebrace... but not quite as fondly.
