I felt that a contribution to Rovers Player would put some pennies in Barry's pocket so cancelled my subscription.

Subsequently I was told that the Club made no money out of it but found that hard to believe.

However Player allowed access to all Clubs in the system so a subscription to say Fleetwood or Accy would allow you access to Rovers content including live audio of games.

If the new live video service operates in the same way I will buy it but not via Rovers.

If you subscribe to Rovers player you can also login to other clubs who use the same "football league player" service. Not everyone in the Championship uses the same one (there was a deal in 2000 for all football league clubs and they signed up to same template though I don't know why Rovers hadn't gotten rid of it by 2012) noticed Leeds don't and pretty sure Newcastle don't either.

If you subscribe through another club surely they get a cut of the fee? Perhaps that way you can use also use Rovers Player without any money going to the club. I'm certain all clubs get a fee for using the template but no extra incentives on subscribers, etc?

Radio Rovers do audio for both home and away matches online. Radio Lancashire could be another option unless restricted abroad?

No point keeping Rovers Player during the summer.

Radio Lancs do not do live online match commentary.

Apparently all EFL clubs are fibre optic connected to the new video streaming hq in Preston.

Clubs like Newcastle are too but will transmit over their own online tv service.

Great idea and a matter of time before they have to make it available for everyone. When I lived in NA this was available for PL teams for about 10 dollars a month (I think). It was great, HD stream, all legal, and for some games no commentry, and then came Venkys :-(.

I do whince when I read people say you are aboard or live far away why would you care about Rovers. There are loads of people that love the club(s) that will use this service.

I wonder if one of our supporters abroad subscribes to this whether we in Britain will be able to piggy back on it and watch away matches. I'm no techie but somebody might know how to do it.

Is ifollow going to be video for outside the UK or is that another service?
iFollow has replaced Rovers Player and will stream live all Rovers L1 games to those who have the international version. It now looks like it will stream Carabao cup too.

The pre-season friendlies are shown as being streamed live and may well also be on the UK version and 'Free Pass' version of iFollow.
