Young Adam is going to the very top,he runs youth games U23 games,be nice to blood a few this season,if it's the play offs you usually have a few dead rubbers at the end of season.

Difficult to resist for both the rovers and the Phillips family but he really would be better developing here rather than risking being chewed up and spit out like Phil Jones has been. Phil's career suggests to me that he'd have been far better maturing here for another couple of years. Frank Carr was another ... 100k in 1984 and he'd never played in the first team!. His career bombed after that and his talent and potential wasted. Junior hoilett, Dave Bradford were other examples too. Football is littered with them.... Keith Gillespie, Stan Bowles etc and I see serial wastrel ravel Morrison is out of contract in waggys link too!
Footballs littered with them and tbh clubs like ours can profit by taking big clubs cast offs, mending their psyche and nursing them back to form.

Thank goodness Rovers tied him down to a 3 year contract that will start on his 17th Birthday. Without that he could have walked into another club for £0. Some of our fans berate Waggott and Mowbray for not tying down Lenihan, Rothwell and Nyambe. The difference is that Phillips wanted to sign and the others did not.

Thankfully we have a wage structure in place with a cap. Without it would be financial suicide.

Many ways to skin a cat and as hell have an agent who hopefully is willing to play a longer game there is nothing to say that we haven't stitched a percentage of any future transfer fee into his deal.

It'll be his parents that they are targeting no doubt. Money talks. I rem a little lad of 10 playing against my son at Primary school over 20 years ago and Liverpool were paying his parents 10k pa just to take him training with their kids teams.
