Yeah and maybe that's what leads to snakes like Anderson, Agnew, etc taking advantage. People shouldn't be allowed to take even the slightest liberties. If a couple of people are irked by such statements its a couple too many. What's been normal at this club over past few years anyway? Not saying my methods would be successful (I would go nuts with that level of power though some might say I'm nuts already) but it would damn sure keep people in line more. I remember you saying a while ago you wouldn't employ someone with a (presumably) ear piercing. Well I personally wouldn't care if someone had an earring (don't have any myself) but people have different standards.

Brian Clough once fired a couple of women he saw laughing after a defeat. Like I said what's normal to some isn't to others.
Unbelievable! but then I knew that. We were talking about the ground entertainment. Nothing to do with football at all.

Any more captivating pictures of chips too? OK that was perhaps needlessly sardonic.

Anyway as with the past 7 years a kick in the teeth is always round the corner. Lets hope that's what happens to Shrewsbury when they host Rovers next weekend. Look at it this way they were hardly being spoken of as promotion favourites and their unbeaten run may well end sooner rather than later. Positive spin perhaps but its a pretty credible argument too.

The goal came from a defensive mix up. OOT was right about the physicality of the Wimbledon team. Every time there was a challenge for a high ball there was a shove in the back or a pull from behind and once they cottoned on that the referee was ignoring whatever rough house tactics they used they employed them all the more. As soon as they got the goal they completely parked the bus and employed the most sickening delaying and time wasting tactics and again the referee allowed them to get away with it. Probably the worst refereeing display I have ever seen and totally one sided to boot. Even Tony Mowbray who is not prone to such things had a go at him on Radio Lancashire after the match.
We will have to learn to deal with such tactics though if we have any hopes of promotion.

They haven't changed their style from the previous incarnation then? If they were getting away with it suppose we can't blame them. What you have to do when you have less talent. Chapman claiming Rovers absolutely dominated

A classic smash & grab , from a fit , physical and well organised unit . In addition they were pretty adept at the dark arts of gamesmanship , reminded me of the old Wimbledon under the likes of Gould & Bassett . Looks like their manager had done his homework.

Rovers lost the physical battle and didn't have the craft or flair to break down a no nonsense defence .

As mentioned by Al above , the referee was conned . They were in charge of the game . It always amazes how referees don't cotton on and deal firmly with the sort of gamesmanship on show today . I could see their antics from the stand , why couldn't the referee see them on the pitch ?

Hopefully Rovers learn lessons & move on

That's probably a bit of an exaggeration but I suppose we did camp in their half a bit in the second half but the play was stopped so many times by their falling over and other delaying tactics that it was difficult to put anything constructive together at all.

Thickest and least savvy team that I have ever seen in blue and white. Wimbledon despite their use of the dark arts and a massive dose of luck on occasion deserved their 3 points. They had more purpose and guile. Our lot seemed (as I predicted 5 mins before KO) to believe all they had to do was turn up to win the game. Once that mindset has been allowed to develop in a team the game is virtually lost as it is so difficult to motivate 11 players all at once.

The Ref 2/10 for that bugger! He was an absolute shocker who by his physical appearance had never kicked a ball in anger and as a result didn't have a clue about what constituted foul play, nor could he recognise blatant time wasting, nor did he appear to even be aware of any number of issues that were going on throughout the match.

Raya 4/10 .... is he really better than Steele? I don't think so and his kicking is decidedly suspect. He makes me nervous.
Caddis 3/10... I see very little in this lad to make me warm to him.
Ward 2/10... Even less in this bugger! Slow and ponderous with dreadful distributional ability.
Mulgrew 4/10... Normally a quality player but today Wimbledon gave him little time on the ball and he didn't appear to be able to cope with the pressure. Lots of mistakes and unforced errors from Charlie today and he looked shaky all afternoon I'm afraid.
Williams 4/10... I said last year that he would be at home in the lower leagues and most weeks he appears ready and willing to prove it. A long way worse than Tommy Spurr imo who is now plying his trade a division above him.
Bennett 3/10 ... Had a shocker today. Ineffective and careless.
Smallwood 3/10... See 'Bennett'. A careless intercepted pass led directly to Wimbledon's goal and he gave the ball away needlessly a number of times until Mowbray lost patience and hauled him off.
Evans 2/10... I've never liked this chap much and today summed him up perfectly. Piss poor in just about everything that he did. Neither of these jokers are fit to lace Lowe's boots on this display today.
Conway 4/10... Tried hard until injury struck and he was replaced by Dack. Why that was only Mowbray will be able to enlighten us! A winger off and with the exciting and dedicated wide man Chapman on the bench Mowbray chose to change not only players but also formations. Weird.
Samuel 5/10... tried hard but came up short in most things he attempted.
Antonsson 3/10... seems very lightweight and brings little to the party imo. Not cut out for this division and imo is another waste of time to wear the blue and white halves.

Subs
Dack 5/10.. busy but ultimately ineffective today.
Chapman 6/10... why Mowbray put inside forward Dack on to replace the injured Conway instead of natural wideman Chapman I have absolutely no idea!
Graham 5/10 ... Looked better than the other two strikers when he came on but beware he's OK until he believes the CF spot is his own and then he seems to revert back to his lazy self!

Mowbray 3/10... cocked up big style today by sending out a team of over expectant big heads! Not only that but compounded his error by replacing a wideman with a central midfielder! Must say I'm blowing hot and cold over this manager.

If these performances carry on I might become a boycotter too!

Not a single Rovers player earned their coin today...a truly awful performance.

You really could not guess which side had the league form. Some of our players looked disinterested..totally baffled me!

Yeah Birmingham have been in sensational form haven't they? Lowe limped off after a couple of minutes today. Probably knew he wasn't fit (hamstring) and selfishly declared himself fit anyway. Redknapp's been sacked that's what happens when managers play Lowe they lose their jobs. I don't disagree with some of your other assessments above particularly Evans.

Who's the player with the most managers sacked/resigned? Mostly sacked of course in Lowe's case. He might be nearing a record if he keeps it up at present rate.

Lowe's favourite song...

Imagine that playing over a montage of his "skills" and all the managers he's had looking miserable.

Lowe got Motm with the fans after the Brum vs Leeds game.

Jota, Isaac Vassell, Che Adams and One of the defenders are all out with hamstring injuries along with Lowe now which suggests training pitch problems

I've already said last year that Lowe would be one of our strongest players in this division. I still standby that but I guess now we'll never know will we?
Oh and btw nice to see Gary Bowyer doing so well at Blackpool, he deserves his relative success. 2nd equal now. Despite becoming the target of the the pathetic boo boys he's still the best manager that we have had since Allardyce was sacked. The ability of the venkys to cock up so consistently is uncanny and matched only by the carriers of the Ewood virus.

Exactly as I pointed out earlier! From the LET.............. “We should have got it wider more,” Mowbray

Kinell! Inexplicably Dack on for Conway on 33 minutes which made us effectively a very narrow 4-3-1-2 for 30+ minutes until he introduced more width in Chapman on 69 minutes! "We should have got it wider more.... for which I will shoulder the blame" would have read much better, displayed more honesty and helped keep his squad lined up behind him.

My relatively early judgement on Mowbray is that whilst he's obviously got the squad fitter and improved attitudes that tactically he is very naive and takes too long to discover that the opposing manager has stymied him. I can understand that tbh but it's quite easily remedied. He needs to take a leaf out of Allardyce's book and spend the first 45-60 minutes communicating with his bench from the Directors box form where the entire game takes on a much different perspective. There is after all a good reason for the TV cameras at every ground being situated high up on the half way line.
