Rovers v Birmingham: 29 November 2023

Tonight is the clash of the small town team and the big city club. I am predicting a 2-1 win for Rovers and a welcome and much needed home victory.

It is also an opportunity to see Wayne Rooney in the flesh. I wonder if his missus Waynetta ‘Wagetha’ Rooney will also be present.

I am also going to run a challenging competition. Which one of these is Wayne Rooney and which is an ugly red leather armchair.

Just to help prep for this all important game here is an image of a fit and hungry Wayne taken in the Old Trafford changing rooms in his heyday.

Draw 2-2 - There has to be one eventually and given our home form it might be classed as a good result :p

3-1 Rovers. I'm rarely that confident of a win in such an unpredictable league, and we've been poor at home of late, but Rooney is a rubbish manager so if we get after these I'm sure we can win comfortably.

Oh and the temperature tonight will be minus five. I always knock off a couple of degrees in the Riverside so should feel about minus seven!

I wouldn't take too much notice of the above. Both teams having strange results of late. Rovers shit at home whilst Brum are absolutely shit away from home.

I don't actually mind Rooney as a bloke, always seemed one of the more grounded mega rich modern day players. As is regularly the case with these top ex players, for some reason (maybe they expect too much of their players abilities) they rarely make top managers.

Birmingham as a club is one I generally dislike less than most others so there's no needle for me tonight, but all the same 4 nil Rovers.

Going with current stats on this one.

We are shit at home and (as with last season) do not draw (only Leicester with no draws have drawn less this season).

So, unfortunately 1-2.
