One thing I will say is that Sky, in particular Hinchcliffe make Dumb and Dumber from iFollow sound like Messiahs.

No help from the ref, but the game was lost in the first half. SG and BB were ineffective out wide and the midfield was overrun.
\main concern now is Dack. A dismal end to the match.

The problem is that neither Rothwell or Elliott are doing much better than SG or BB at the moment. It was a short impact but not much more in the second half by the substitutes.

Maybe Tony’s plan all along was for Sam and Ben to rough up the Brentford defence prior to the likes of Elliot come on in the second half. Cast doubt on their ability as much as you like but they are more of a physical presence.

Nit suggesting you were casting doubt Robin as it seems I directed that at you which I didn’t.

Dack another cruciate according to the first diagnosis. Ffs! The poor lad. A straightforward break would have been much more preferable. One cruciate is debilitating, two knees could be career ending.:worried:

Very poor tonight and Dack gets injured with his only serious challenge in the game.

Not what I saw Robin. Neither was it the opinion of the sky sports commentators and pundits. To us all the half time switch changed the whole match emphasis.

From the manager:

“I didn’t recognise the team in the first-half and it looked like a team who had had nine days of rest against a team that was playing a fourth game in 10 days.

“We weren’t at the races and I have to take responsibility for picking a team that I thought could go again."

I really believe that we have a genuine and honest manager here at the moment after years of dross. Any knee jerk reactions regarding Tonys future should be viewed whilst bearing quotes like this in mind in my opinion.

I expect much more from several players Gordon. Elliott we know he can perform consistently even though his form is a bit bad at the moment. However, Rothwell should do better with the talent he has. It might sound as a contradiction to say that you expect more from a player who never has performed consistently because he has not. In addition to this we have BB and SG and both of them have much less talent than the previous two. None of these players perform well over a long time period except Elliott and he won’t be with us next season. I’m frustrated as hell about this and I think this is the problem why we never will reach the playoffs with certain players even though we wish we would.

The morning after......

I feel so sorry for Dack. I just hope he can overcome the psychological barriers as well as the physical ones. It will be a massive ask to get him back to the player he was. I just wonder if Mowbray was too reliant on Dack and was giving him too much pitch time- who knows.

Gally and BB were back to their usual useless selves. We missed JR-C, Rothwell was a headless chicken and Travis is back with a sick note. Roll on the end of the season asap.

I wasn't blaming SG or BB Robin. They get a lot of criticism, but shirking isn't generally one of them. The way we were set up meant that they were cut off from the midfield and Dolan. We were just pinging high balls towards Dolan with the inevitable result. Conceding a penalty 3 attackers on two defenders in the first 10 minutes is Sunday football stuff and we were lucky the Bees weren't out of sight before half time.. Mowbray added an extra body to midfield in Rothwell after the break, which allowed Dack to get into more dangerous positions. The changes helped, but more down to the tactical formation, if you ask me, than because of the replacements.

Good luck to Brentford mind. Did Toney remind anyone of Ian Wright at Palace the way he broke at speed from deep and the way he knocks the ball into the back of the net?
