As the dark nights draw in we have the delight of Cardiff at home in the Caramel Custard Cup this coming Wednesday.

The BBE is apparently closed, what a silly decision by Rovers. A good number of the BBE will probably boycott, some will position themselves in the JW Upper close enough to CEO Mr Waggott for him to hear their angst (it is a good job it will not be snowing ) and the JW regulars will have to put up with the boorish behaviour of those BBEnders who enjoy standing all game and loudly passing wind in public.

Shall I go or shall I stay at home with a nice beer, a glass of my best Chianti and Radio Lancashire to keep me awake? My, what a difficult decision to make.

I would play our best team with Pear ‘Drop’ in goal and Dolan leading our wonderful attack. With those two playing we are assured of plenty of goals (at the wrong end) and plenty of misses (at the right end).

As for the score…..an accomplished 3-0 for t’Wovers in front of record low attendance of 2,781.

If the Blackburn End is closed!! It isnt a bad decision - its a disgraceful one
And reading this has got my blood boiling - I will have to give serious consideration to whether I attend or not
I stood on the Blackburn End for years - now! it would be my last choice! Mainly because I like to get a better overall picture of what is going on - but to have away fans (all be it a coach load or two) in the Darwen end and no home support - even if its only a couple of thousand is a shocking decision!
If I was a Blackburn Ender - I would boycott for sure

Apart from when we were building the New Ewood I can't ever rem the BBurn End being shut for a rovers first team match. I think I'd rather see us forfeit the match.

They are quite clearly expecting a low turn out. I would have thought that the entertainment factor of our second team would produce a higher attendance! The club are letting down our young players by doing this, crazy.

I am not defending the Club but I did speak with someone very close to the Club only this morning and he confirmed what we already know that “…the Club have no money, they have a cost savings plan in place across the board”.

This will be a cost saving decision. However I doubt they factored in the loss of revenue from the many who will say “f*** it, I’m not going”. I also hope Rovers factored in the reputational damage they have self inflicted on the Club owners and senior management.

But what is wrong with a full explanation / savings breakdown etc - At least then it might be palatable (not to me though)

I am furious - I looked at buying a seat the other day but decided to wait for a friend to get back to me - I saw the blanked out Blackburn End but just didnt twig, as I wouldnt have sat there........but that isnt the point!

The young players that will be the future of Rovers will be subjected to a stadium with one stand of a smattering of home supporters. That's the biggest shame in all of this. They deserve better.

Waggott's position is clear. He has no qualms in closing stands if the sum of the others do not exceed the attendance figure. Doing it in cup competitions is probably a prelude to doing it in the league when everybody is used to it. I do wonder if he will dare to do it.

The Blackburn End stand is closed for this game. Surely this is a first that that area of the ground is denied to home fans! It’s supposed to be a cost saving exercise. I can’t quite believe it. The heartbeat of our support is shut down. The financial situation must be bad?
