I went to this game on the Football Leagueliner, a special charter train complete with First Class seating, a carriage showing footy videos in colour (remember it's only 1973) and a special carriage with a disco! As I recall, it was a very long train carrying around 600 people. The team travelled back to Blackburn with us.

Good win back then in the 3rd Div but goodness only knows what Endean was angry about over that penalty award. Some fat gits on the Watford side.

Sir Roger Jones with a brilliant penalty save and Tony Field with a delightful chip.

Very enjoyable - thank you WB 👏👏👏

Great find WB! Is it really 50 years ago!
Vicarage Road looked like a Non-League ground. Apart from his miss Field looked class as did Parkes. We could do with Sir Roger now!

Hughes, Bentley, RSC all left the rovers and history will suggest that they should have stayed.

Hi all. I have been meaning to sign up for a while, but was prompted to do so upon seeing this. Thanks for making the thread, Alan. It has been a dismal time watching Rovers under the Venky regime and things sound pretty grim right now with talk of fire sales and players being sold just to pay the bills. So I thought I'd share some of these videos to spread some memories of the good times. The phrase "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" springs to mind when it comes to our Rovers and this wretched takeover. Pardon my language, but Venky's can eff off, they are an absolute disgrace for what they have done to this fantastic club and for the way they continue to run the club into the ground. Their departure cannot come soon enough for me! The bastards.

Anyway, on a happier note, I have over 20 player compilations to share. I'm not sure I can fit them all on to one post as it will become too long. I will try to add four or five videos per post if that's possible. If not, then it will be individually done. If there are many more comps in the future I'll add them to the thread:

1. Andy Cole

2. Dwight Yorke

3. Jon Stead

4. Paul Dickov

5. Craig Bellamy

6. Bradley Dack

7. Ben Brereton Diaz

8. Adam Armstrong

9. Charlie Mulgrew

Welcome RoversQ77
Just dont post all Shearers goals.... I think the site might go down under the strain! As for 'Rippers', he should have had twice as many if only he could finish.:pensive:
