I thought it might help our nerves to read funny stories around the Derby match itself or Dingles in general.

I'll kick off with a story from January 1975. Wimbledon, then in the Southern league played at the dingledome in the FA Cup and won 1-0!

As it happens the Wombles had a song in or around the charts and on most juke boxes.
So 4 or 5 of us drove over to Burnley that night and toured the town centre pubs playing the Wombles record over and over on said juke boxes.
Eventually the Dingles twigged and searched the pubs for us. They did find us but we were too close to the car to catch us.
Seems daft now but, at the time, it was hilarious

I've no personal funny memories but the first job I ever had, the manager was a Burnley fan, and I remember him telling me about the night on t'turf when the staying down 4 ever plane flew over and how loads of the Knuckle draggers on the open end were throwing coins at it! Err I don't think you'll reach ya thick bastards.

Sums the neanderthals up.
