Rovers Senior Training Centre at Brockhall
Rovers Senior Training Centre at Brockhall has been sold to a new company set up by owners Venky’s London Limited.
Documents listed at the Land Registry outline that the Senior Training Centre, which had been earmarked for development earlier this year, was sold for £16.6m, with a lease-back agreement in place.

What is this all about?

So they’ve sold the property to themselves to put some money into the club. Whats the problem?

That’s how I saw it , but I’m no financial guru . Is this a way round the Financial Fair Play restrictions? Surviving on an ever declining season ticket base of less than 5 figures perhaps needs some financial wizardry .

I had a quick look on the dark side to see what they think of it knowing full well it would not have gone down well. Surprisingly 2 or 3 have made some comments in defence of the move but have been piled upon for their comments; an alternative view is not allowed…repeat, an alternative view is not allowed as it is against what the Central Committee have decreed.

I can see both sides of the argument
As with all things Venkys its difficult to figure out what the hell is going on, (Nothing has changed there in 12 years)

What concerns me is that again its been done in a covert manner
Is that SW giving the fans the finger after his little money making plan fell through?

And if it is to raise day to day funds (which I hope it is) Why only the Senior Training centre and not all of the Brockhall site? It could be so that they can do it again if funds are needed? but the fact they have done this in June suggests it was done before the rules changed, so would a repeat manoeuvre even be possible?

My final point is..............What are we doing with all this generated money? Training ground, Adam Armstrong, David Raya all put together adds up to approx £30m - yet we couldn't do the pitch? cant offer better contracts (despite our wage bill dropping dramatically at the end of June) and even things like ground maintenance are being ignored.

If it wasn't something I cared about so much.................it would be funny

In fairness steve there was nobody more secretive than Jack and Fred Walker and their families.

Also at 150m in debt I shouldn't think we can expect it to be chucked back in to be frittered away on players wages.

I'd suggest if a Tardis ever came up for auction the supporters of BRFC would band together to buy it in order to go back to 2010 and prevent the sale of the club to venkys..... but they'd be outbid by venkys desperately wanting to do the same!

Maybe certain players agents are demanding more money than we are prepared to pay them?
