Denis Norden has passed away at 96.
I’m a bit too young to remember his early stuff but I used to enjoy the early It’ll be Alright on the Night programmes.

His film criticism was excellent too. Famously always holding a clipboard. He once had a comedy and writing partnership with Frank Muir.

Yes I think they appealed to everybody. They never pretended to be brilliant musicians but they were a lot of fun.

I must say I couldn't believe how good DC and Marvel comics were when I discovered them in the early mid 60's. Traditional UK comics were good in their own right but the US comics just blew them away for any kid with imagination.

Rather shocked this morning to hear about the death of BBC NW Weather girl and presenter Dianne Oxberry.

I doubt anyone out of the North west will have heard of her but she was always presentable and smart. She wore clothes like a mannequin too. Pretty sudden too as only a couple of months ago she was taking part on the BBC NW Children in Need coastal walk.
