I’ve just checked but unbelievably can’t find a weather thread so here it is. I’m coming to the conclusion that we are not going to get any snow in Blackburn despite all the warnings. Shame really as I love to get the Quattro out in it! Sorry, selfish I know.

My Mrs reckons that we need a good spell of below freezing temperatures to kill off all the bugs that have been knocking about recently.

A spot of 'winter kill' usually does good. However megaman has a point. New builds now of any quality now are superbly insulated BUT have ventilation systems which take out stale air and replace it with fresh through a heat exchanger. Houses built in the last 50 years without that but with high level of insualtion and plastic doors and windows are effectively incubators for bacteria etc.

The storm seems to have ended. Everything stayed intact. The windows and the garden fence. Only thing is the paper bin blew over. All its contents are all over the back garden. Waiting to see if any of my household can be bothered sorting it out. Oh no. It will be left to me. As ever. Lazy sods.

Winds picking up. Gonna be back this weekend. The forecasters always get it right regarding storms. Everything else is a load of rubbish.

Horrifically with already 150 confirmed dead the death toll could surpass 1000 given the number of people being reported as missing!
Difficult to believe this could happen in countries so close to us. These are pictures that we see more often coming from Bangladesh, China or South America.
There must have been no warning of the severity of this storm but if so why wasn't there? Most of the times I check the weather the BBC has somewhere in the UK on an amber warning although tbf that could result in a situation over here like the story of the boy who cried wolf.

28c in south Oxfordshire today! I’ve prepped marinated some chicken tandoori, Middle Eastern mince style for Koftas, Piri Piri chicken breasts, garlic and chilli king prawns all ready for the bbq in a bit!

Bottle of Ophir gin about to be cracked open and some grapefruit to put in it!
