Number 19 in the squad. He turns up to games and will make the starting squad of 18 if any of the players are injured in the run up to kick off. You never know that one of the players may get the sniffles and Markanday can then officially warm the bench.
So a promising lad whom we paid shy of a million for can't get a place on the bench in lieu of George bloody Hirst? This is crackers.

For away games I’d be looking to shore up with a 4-5-1 with wide men that can actually run.
What other team actually exists with the likes of BBD & Gallagher as 6ft+ wide men who are not fast runners, don’t defend, cant beat a man or cant go wide. Too one dimensional, we were the same under Mowbray.
Would like to see Markandy given a shot.

Me too and totally agree with you on the narrowness of the forwards.

From the small bits we've seen of Markandy and during pre-season he was scoring, full of pace and a bit of trickery, like a proper wide forward. Utterly baffling how he's not in the squad. If he's this 19th man for games on end then he is going to lose match practise quite quickly? He's also at the age where he needs regular football which is why he left Spurs in the first place.

It would be nice to see a Jon Douglas/Craig Conway one side hard working and a fast nippy bugger like Hoillet on the other in the 4-5-1 but can’t see it in this squad currently.

We recruited a load of crap this summer. Exceptions are Hyam and Morton (loan)

Hyam for me is a quality replacement for Lenihan. I dread to think where we would be without him and Ayala. I must say though it's a strange signing Hyam for a manager who wants to play out from the back don't you think? He isn't exactly Beckenbeur with his feet.

Morton for me is yard ahead in his brain compared to everyone else, quick feet, always ready for the ball etc. Wonderful passing range on him too.

I think BBD is best running in from wide left but I'd have Gally down the middle and Dolan wide right.

Rather surprised blame is being laid on Hirst and none on Szmodic who imo looks bang ordinary. When I see signings like those two I begin to wonder about dodgy dealing. Hope I'm wrong but my spidey senses are beginning to tingle slighly.

Schmozza looks like a lad who has come up with a newly promoted team, He's not top half quality. He has allot of good attributes but i think he is hard of thinking, something with him dosen't click. His foot work can be very decent, he looks a grafter but something i've noticed is his lack of concentration especially when to press in order with the rest of the front line, or to play the ball a bit quicker/better pass on etc.

Hirst i wouldn't play again, if he was Vale we would be saying send him to L1 on loan etc. Why are we messing about with him when we have Vale and Markanaday anyways?

The one thing I think you can say is there's every chance we'll win the next game.

Then we'll probably be back to 6th and you have to ask yourself what do Rovers fans want? Starting to turn on a manager 2 months into his first season, with the club hovering around the play-offs?

The only way the treatment of JDT and Mowbray makes sense is if Rovers fans go into seasons expecting to be promoted. That must still be the case and that really is ridiculous.

I go into seasons expecting us to finish mid-table, so as big a fan of Mowbray as I was, there's no way I can be currently disappointed with JDT.

I expect to see entertainment, I expect to see a side organised. Players look really bored under this guy.

The under 21’s playing at Ewood tonight would half beaten Wigan. I will put my money on it.

But then how have we won as many we've lost? We're a mid-table side with 1 quality player who's giving it 75% every game. And we've won 7 and lost 7. I don't really know what people expect, we look mediocre because we are mediocre.
