Winston Churchill

The greatest Britain of all was born today in 1874 . We all should be eternally grateful for his service to this country . I know the left now call him a racist and think Marcus Rashford is a better role model , but isn’t it time we renamed a public holiday ? A bit like in the US where they have Martin Luther King Day .

Let’s rename the useless and pointless May Day and instead celebrate Winston Churchill Day ✌

Good idea but tbh I can't ever see that happening with all the snowflakes around

One of the thing that annoys me the most is that people are judging historical persons by today's "so called" standards. They need to go through a PC filter without thinking things were very different back then. Churchill did have some controversial moments pre-ww2 but if you look in a holistic view, doesn't his contribution to Britain's struggles and efforts during ww2 outshine some of his controversial moments?
National hero? Indeed I would say.

Indeed Robin. “Each of us is more than the worst thing we’ve ever done.”
- Bryan Stevenson, Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption.
A hero of mine , along with Churchill , but flawed all the same . A reminder to us all , MLK’s wise words , judge people by the content of their character, not the colour of their skin .

I noticed this thing was harping on about him yesterday

Churchill a white supremacist?
Just looked it up...

Definition of white supremacist

: a person who believes that the white race is inherently superior to other races and that white people should have control over people of other races

Well if the def is correct and looking at the majority of advanced nations and the majority of backward nations I'd suggest that the term is a truism.

Glad you said "so-called" standards. This is what the politically correct, morally pure, socially just woke brigade stand for in my opinion:
Anti-white.
Anti-Jewish.
Anti-men.
Anti-political right.
Anti-western nations.

So they're racist, sexist, xenophobic and oppose free speech. And they're the ones who see fit to judge historical figures. What can you say at this point. Saying I find them contemptible would be like saying I find Antarctica slightly chilly.
