Lenihan is our best player when fit, keeping him will be TM big challenge in the summer, sometimes defenders do not get the credit they deserve, but 2 clean sheets in 3 games that he has played since his return shows what a difference he makes to a defence that conceded for fun.

great result although i bet lennihan wont play sunday.Looked like his groin went.
I hope you are wrong. Lenihan has made a tremendous difference to the defence and I don't want to lose him again so soon. We need our strongest team against Wigan. Never thought I'd have to say that before this season.

Not paid too much attention to Wigan's affairs over the years but Old Whelan certainly appears to be able to spot a decent manager. Paul Cook being his latest 'find' it seems.

Great to hear that Lenihan had blinder . Central defence has been a worry for me all season . This team has a special attacking talent but at times has been defensively, very fragile down the middle .

3-0 away from home , against a physical , no nonsense and direct team , in difficult conditions played at a ground that sounds worse than Stanley's Crown Ground , shows that TM had them all in the right frame of mind . Well done TM and well done Rovers .

I’m pretty sure Wigan won’t be relishing coming to Ewood on Sunday . Lose and they've a lot of catching up to do .

Indeed OOT. Wimbledon's attack appeared (like many teams in this division) to rely on physical presence to work over the opposition. Our weakness to date involved having our weakest players Downing and Nyambe next to each other with Raya behind displaying similar defensive frailties. Other teams played on this weak left side and that is why we have been so leaky in defence. Williams too is hardly the stuff of legends is he? Mulgrew has been our best defender by a country mile, often having to go in where it hurts a little too often given that he is one of our best playmakers too. Also as given the nature of our players we end up passing the ball around the opposition penalty area so often looking for openings that should we lose possession we are open to long 'hoof' balls from the back. Nyambe and Downing have often been proved vulnerable to such aggressive strikers, with no clearer highlight of this than the Oldham match at Ewood. Lenihan's return must have taken tonnes of pressure off Mulgrew's shoulders.

Agreed, Mulgrew is a class act and was being asked to fill two roles , almost a Beckenbauer and a Jack Charlton in one - too much to ask although at times he did it with aplomb. Just hope Lenihan is fit for Sunday and his groin holds up .
