So much of this division is about attitude. Don't play up to the mark against any team and you'll get beaten. I don't want to get carried away after a the run of results that we've had but I see signs that our attitude and team spirit is improving every week. I wonder if this run continues that the owners might see a reason to stump up a serious bonus offer to the squad for getting promotion to the land of milk and honey? Might persuade the key out of contract players to stay committed and on board to give it a real go.

A new ten year contract for Buckley? If he is continuing perform and develop as he have done recently it will just be a matter of time before a PL club will offer us money for him and I don’t think we will be in a position where we can say no to big money. The reality, as said before, we are a selling club who has to develop young players.

Buckley? What a transformation over the summer!!! I wrote this after the Luton match where we spewed a 2 goal lead.

"Buckley.... 8 My personal MoM. Was everywhere, getting a foot in to break up many Luton midfield moves and creating play with well executed passing. Last season's boy is quickly turning into a man and showing why Mowbray has such faith in him. If Armstrong still lives up here see if he can pop down to Brockhall and give Buckley a bit of one on one shooting practice and we could have a very valuable player on our hands"

As far as a prem club taking him for big money then that means that he's been brilliant for us. Tbh If I was his agent then no way would I let him sign a 10 year deal. I think tying him up for 3 or 4 years with a release figure built in would be as much as we could hope for.
It seems our board has wisely decided that we should be a 'posh crewe' of the past by taking kids with talent who have dropped off the pace in big clubs academies, shaking them up, dusting them down and putting them back on the road to the top. Looking at the success of recent academy 'graduates' I think top agents will be on the phone to us the minute their charges are binned off at the big club academies.
As for JB ..... An extra 30 min session after each days training with a shooting coach learning how using 80% power and concentrating on a punch' technique keeping the ball down and on target instead of blazing going at full power will yield better results. Who knows with his distribution skills he could even become our go to free kick taker. As far as I can see from the point of view of a creative midfielder it is his main weakness and to cure that would add millions to the millions that I believe he is already worth.

Sod’s law . Our first flirtation with the top six for ages and our outstanding goalkeeper gets what looks like a serious injury in the game that took us there . You couldn’t make it up .

Talk from people, who were there last night in the pub suggested a hip injury but as he's walking off there in that pic he's clutching his abdomen. Let's hope it's not a hernia that requires surgery.

I'm sure most rovers fans of long standing easily could.:pensive:

At least there is no midweek match so they can get a few days rest and lot's of treatment.
