Sure I read recently that a significant number of labour mp’s would prefer amber Rudd as pm before they’d accept corbyn in no10.https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/feb/22/theresa-may-brexit-talks-chequers
Has any cabinet hated each other as much as this chaotic government's? asks the excellent Polly Toynbee. She's right. The one thing the god-forsaken Tories will never admit is that they are split and divided from top-to-bottom.
That is complete rubbish, all he wants is the keys to number 10 and he does not care one iota what damage he does to get there. It will be short lived if he ever gets to be PM as the Soros backed Starmer would oust him within months if not daysCorbyn's played a blinder on this one. It shows that a person who was formerly anti-EU is beginning to understand that a strong relationship with the EU, and membership of a customs union, is the only logical response to Brexit.
Well done to him (said as an ex Tory voter)......at last voters have choices and I know where mine is.
Chris
Sorry, that's the job of the Tory party. All they have done for the past 7 years is manage the country and the economy not in the national interest but that of their own party. Austerity, Brexit were all Tory ideology. That is complete rubbish, all he wants is the keys to number 10 and he does not care one iota what damage he does to get there.
Patently untrue. He has set himself up as a chancer, he will get punished if an election is called, 2/3rd's of Labour voters is a significant amount to alienate
Brexit is not the property of any one political party though, it was a nationwide vote and a vote to leave whether you like it or not. After the Labour party emptied the treasury it needed someone to put the finances back in order.Sorry, that's the job of the Tory party. All they have done for the past 7 years is manage the country and the economy not in the national interest but that of their own party. Austerity, Brexit were all Tory ideology.
It is not bullshit though, just look at the constituencies that voted for leave, mainly Labour MP's, they will be having squeaky bum moments tonight, it has also been debunked that the youth voted for Labour when they lost the last electionPatently untrue.
Every survey shows that between two thirds and three quarters of regular Labour voters voted Remain, and that 90 per cent of Labour members prefer a soft Brexit or Remain .
Labour constituencies that voted leave were driven by Tory voters and Ukip voters and a small proportion of non-core (obviously) Labour voters in those constituencies.
This bullshit argument has been floated that core Labour voters backed Leave when it was a minority, and many of them were wandering the Ukip and Tory fringes.
It's more true to sat that the largest core swaths of Labour voters are pro-Remain and have been alienated by Corbyn's anti-EU sympathies......until now
Chris.
i hate the tories as much as anyone but corbyn is the answer to what? a big fat dry euro bumming and lots more terrosits walking our streets/...So now the CBI, the employers' organisation, has endorsed Corbyn’s proposal , saying it would “put jobs and living standards first.” Who'd have thunk that ? Against the foaming at the mouth Brexiteers on the Tory backbenches, Jeremy Corbyn now has become the voice of reason. And slowly, oh so slowly, non-Tory politicians begin to tell the public the truth....remaining in the EU is the best deal of all.
It was a good speech by Major by virtue of being true. His anger at the damage being done to the country by the 37% was restrained but palpable. The gullible Brexit pensioners were sold a pup. Time to return it to the shop. Are you in John Majors fan club now after his bullshit Tory speech ...if there's a 2nd referendum then democracy is dead .
