Tried that Drog in co-operation with next door neighbour but we finished up with rats in the compost heap so that was the end of that. The Corporation contracted to remove rubbish from my house when they set the rates at the maximum they are legally allowed to and as far as I am concerned this is a sneaky way to charge more. I consider this a breach of contract that I am not prepared to accept. My garden area is in excess of an acre yet I've never ever used my Brown bin Al! (well actually I do use it but only to store wood for the two wood burners that we hardly ever use in the house.) I have a dumping area where the larger tree cuttings and autumn leaves go, a compost heap for vegetation that will compost, and my lawnmower is fitted with a mulcher.
No waste food ever goes in my compost heap Al so that may be why I don't have a problem.Tried that Drog in co-operation with next door neighbour but we finished up with rats in the compost heap so that was the end of that.
Don't care about green. I just want a nice garden with grass and flowers to sip my gin and tonics in. No compost heaps and no fucking hens. I'll either put my garden waste in the grey bin or join the many new fly tippers. No waste food ever goes in my compost heap Al so that may be why I don't have a problem.
However If you want to get rid of left overs / waste food then there is no greener outlet other than a few (3 or 4) hens. They'll eat everything and turn it into eggs overnight.
Best thing to make grass grow and show a strong green colour is a little hen shit now and again. I mean that Al.... hen shit truly is the best natural (and organic) feed for lawn grasses.Don't care about green. I just want a nice garden with grass and flowers to sip my gin and tonics in. No they don't .... of if they do it's their owners fault! Rotting veg and putrefying animal tissue stinks a damned site more that's for sure.chucks stink as well...stuff that
I don't mind hen shit on my lawn. It's putting up with the bloody hens scratching about my land that I couldn't cope with.Best thing to make grass grow and show a strong green colour is a little hen shit now and again. Thanks for this post Gordon. I am shooting not far from Goosnargh on Friday so will pop in on your recommendation. After viewing Barmitzvah Boy's piccy of that rag pudding I'm minded to mention the best chippy that I pass regulary on my travels. Goosnargh Chippy has changed hands with regularity over the past 30 years but the latest proprietor(s) seem to have turned it's fortunes around. It's now staffed by 3(?) local ladies who have the place absolutely spotless. I must say I've never had fish and chips as I simply can't get past the pies on offer (best being the peppered beef). All pies are home made plate pies and £3.20 gets you the 'pie deal'..... namely a large slice of selected pie, chips with either gravy, mushy peas or curry sauce. The difference between those pies and the usual bland Hollands stodge is amazing. The place now seems much busier every time I pass.
Fish and chips around Blackburn I'd recommend are the Wellington St Chippy, Holly Tree and the Ocean Chippy opposite St Wilfrids. careful with the latter though cos a single fish and chip portion here is easily sufficient for two hungry people.... with a slice or two of bread and butter of course.
Yeah I'll recommend it too. Not because I've been or intend to but rather see them get custom than Northchoke.I went for lunch in the new Italian in the cathedral quarter 'A mano' I think it's called. Lovely surroundings. Might sound odd but I like Italian food for lunch but don't appreciate it for an evening meal. Anyway I had a very pleasant seafood Spaghetti and we enjoyed a very very pleasant bottle of Soave. When I went to pay there was 25% off the bill which I hadn't known about. Recommended.... for lunch at least.
Yawn!Yeah I'll recommend it too. Not because I've been or intend to but rather see them get custom than Northchoke.
