Sorry guys. I just refuse to live in he past and base my support on hopeless misty eyed nostalgia. Jack had a great opportunity to move football in Lancashire fwd into the 21st century and didn't take it. It was his money of course so he could do what he wanted. Who knows maybe if he'd been 25 when he took over he might have seen things differently.
Oh btw I won't need to make 173 o be proven right steve.
,
I recall Maxwell attempting to amalgamate Oxford and Reading.
His plans were defeated by protests and marches. What have those two done since? Oxfords av attendance since 2000 has been circa 6000 whilst Reading had their own Jack Walker era under Madjeski and fared a little better. Neither won owt, neither ever will and as the die hards grow old and near their time their kids and grandkids will be supporting Chelsea or Man Utd etc. Good eh?
