Interesting line up for the last game of the season. I hope Vale gets a decent run out.

You've got your wish bb

Ooopps! 1-2. A lacksadasical attitude from the rovers according to K G.
Now we'll be under the cosh and no doubt they'll equalise and grab a winner in extra time😞

I posted the below in the Mowbray thread.

Half time at Small Heath and we are leading 2-0 and in control. TM takes off Eden for Dack, moves Buckley back alongside Travis. Ten minutes later Dack has barely touched the ball and Small Heath are coming back into the game.
This is why TMs time is up.”

Ive stuck by you for years Tony, just go today.

69 points and 8th. We'd all have taken that on day 1 knowing that we were without Adam Armstrong's goals. The tail off was disappointing of course but if we'd been in the bottom 6 at Christmas and ended up in 8th with 69 points we'd be well looking fwd to next season.
It's a fanny ol game saint.

A good win and a creditable 8th place . A feeling of what might have been , but that’s football . Thanks TM for a good 5 years .

A new era begins
I'm as down as if we had lost an important game - we have a decent team and as ODB points out our manager seems hell bent on keeping players happy at whatever cost
We got away with it in a dead rubber but since New Year we have destroyed a fantastic chance

I cant wait for some new blood in the dugout - I feel nothing but contempt for TM

Too right Al

Make sure you look at the reactions of Gallagher and Hedges when BB’s goal goes in! They look gobsmacked!
Good win to end the season and finish 8th but it’s a case of what might have been. The penalty miss at Sheffield was so costly!

I still remember the awful stick he got from so called supporters on social media. Mowbray was also on the receiving end of a lot of abuse for signing him. I’m so pleased for the lad and I hope he stays with us but I’m sure there will be a lot of interest in him,
He always brings a smile to my face after a goal from him as the utter joy he shows is just brilliant.

I think we all knew Buckley has goals in him, let's hope the new manager plays him more forward in midfield, we are going to look quite a different team next year let's hope we can keep hold of our better players, how did Markandy play.

I propose a vote for the best of these two wonderful goals.

Goal 1 Buckley started and finished a superb counter attacking move with an absolute howitzer across the keeper from somewhere like 30 yards. The keeper did get a finger tip on the ball but the power of the shot beat him all ends up.

Goal 2 BBD cut inside from the left, had time to look up to see where the keeper was before hitting a long curling shot into the very top right hand corner of the goal from about the same sort of distance as JB's.
Both goals displaying inch perfect accuracy and a serious helping of raw power.

For me I see Buckley's just edging it on the basis that his strike contained a greater degree of difficulty. An in-swinger from the instep of one's favourite foot being an easier shot than hitting a straight shot with the kind of power that Buckley got on it.
So '2'.

Contempt? FFS contempt is too strong for someone you don't know and whose done a more then decent 5 year stint. Contempt should be applied to the likes of Keane and Anderson although hatred is more accurate imo for those two, perhaps contempt is more applicable to the likes of coyle and Ince. Mowbray's five year tenure on the other hand has been good for the club. He leaves a decent squad, a production line of academy talent on the way and is what I would describe (although I admit that I don't know him personally) as an honest and honourable man well respected throughout the footballing world. Id say perhaps his biggest weakness is in 'in match' tactics but 'contempt' is too strong a word for that. If he had that in his armoury I'm sure he'd have been managing in the prem and would never have considered our job in the first place.

Btw to any Mowbray haters. Should we end up in a worse position under the new man ffs don't use the standard fall back line of the people who booed allardyce out of Ewood by saying .... "well I wanted allardyce out but they shouldn't have given Keane the job! I wanted Jol / Holloway / laudrup / warnock / Maclaren etc (or any number of subsequent proven failures)! My patience isn't limitless!😤

But you can Hate people you don't know? - or have any actual proof of wrong doing?
Contempt may be a little strong but my vocabulary couldn't conjure up anything else that suited my mood when the post was written

I am so frustrated at the decline since new year that I almost feel like walking away
TM has overseen a decline that his hard to come to terms with - his lack of humility is beyond belief ( watch Ralf Rangnick post match interview yesterday)
I get the argument that 8th is a very respectable finish based on pre-season expectations -- I GET THAT!!
But Our decline both this season and even more so, last season is not acceptable - he should have gone last year - end of discussion IMO
To do it again - is just unbelievable - his continued refusal to change the team or set up was suicidal and fucking arrogant in the extreme

I will ask again - If we had played all season like we have in the last 3 months (this year and last) and we had finished up in 17/18 place - which is where our form would have had us
Would you still want him here as manager?
