I remember them putting up this "cantilevered roof" over the Blackburn end. (what's a cantilevered roof everyone asked).
They'd have done better replacing the bog on the corner of the blackburn end and the riverside. Those bogs were awash with piss when you went in.
Vaguely remember the lights going up.
What I do remember of the old riverside was when they started to get behind the team, stamping on the wooden floor, created a roar like nothing else.
And the famous end changing at half time, legendary.

Miss the old Riverside more than owt else at Ewood. When the stamping started it sounded like you were standing under a railway bridge!

Ah the Blackburn End toilets, weren’t they right at the side of the refreshment bar?

I remember seeing the lights on the floor. Way bigger than i thought they would be. I remember the temporary shop too. Terry Gennoe opened the door for me on one of my visits.

It hasn't really. Apparently next up we have a 4000 mile long rain cloud heading towards us from the Mexican Gulf .

Correct SLKS! Be more surprising these days if she actually hade one. Any attempt to recreate that statue would feature either an obese Mother and child with Mum in tight black pants to highlight the fat rolls or someone resembling a large pile of dirty washing! Both with 3 or 4 kids fighting for that toy.

I got told off at a wedding once for saying the brides dress looked like someone in an over stuffed sausage skin.
