Around 8k tickets sold in the 20k capacity arena. Less had been sold for Fury v Chisora 2 before it was pulled and less than double that had been shifted for Fury v Wlad rematch before that was called off.

This is the Furys backyard so i find it odd when people say boxing needs them. No mass appeal to casuals or hardcore boxing fans outside their own fanbase it seems.

Didn't look anywhere near 8000..looked like half arena closed ..top closed in open bit and loads of covered seats..I have guessed at 4

Ridiculous for a non televised World HW title fight even if it was the WBO version. After all the back sliding the Furys pulling out of the original date in NZ to get the fight over here it's backfired big syle. Mind you they did similar with the Klitschko rematch and that went up in smoke or rather up a nose :p

Sometimes things work out like that. Kurt Angle (Olympic gold medal winning amateur wrestler turned pro wrestler) turned out for his school gridiron team just hours after his Dad died in an accident. Put in the best performance of his life. It was a few weeks later he woke up in the night crying so sometimes there's a delayed reaction.

Crolla v Burns - Decent fight even if they are both past their best, at their peaks i'd probably have picked Burns but now I think Crolla win will, tidy fighter as always but with more left in the tank than Ricky.

British HW title fight tonight on Boxnation, Cornish v Sexton. Certainly won't be a classic but it's heavyweight so always worth a watch.

Proper domestic slugfest that rather than a boxing match lol. Typical British stuff with it being more of an actual fight than anything else, entertaining to watch but not for the purists.

No wonder though that giant guys like Price and Fury etc rise through these ranks so quick and the likes of Joshua ko most of em in a few rounds.

Not great preparation for the world stage it's just a good job the Yanks have nowt to offer at HW these days.

Eubank Jr absolutely destroyed him in that 3rd round! Can't wait to see him do that to George Groves!

Gutted I missed Connor Benn. Hopefully catch it on YouTube tomorrow. Seen all of his fights since he came back from his break and this lad is gonna be a star.

Good hard fight between Crolla and Burns. Shame it had to end. Close call in the end, but probably the right one. Would love a rematch, but Crolla's probably got bigger things in his sights again now.

Selby vs Flores on 5 now too. Top night of boxing.

Hope Eubank Jnr does that to Groves, fair play to him tonight although I think both Groves & Smith would've got rid of that Turk but they are further down the line than Jnr so good effort.

Burns v Crolla as expected a tough close fight but never going to be a classic like Sky try and hype every fight. Typical Burns start well, end well then just have 1 flurry in the middle. He's been being outworked in his big fights regularly these days you'd think he'd learn the odd clean shots aren't enough to win fights when your being outworked. Thought it might be a draw but prob right result but Burns will kick himself yet again, Crolla was knackered last couple of rounds.

Benn class again, no need to rush him but they do need to step up oppos for him he's not learning anything now blowing these lads away his ability and power is a cut above.

Managed to watch Benn on YouTube. Absolutely blew him away. Like you say, needs to be in a few wars now to test his mettle. Future looks good for him though.

Selby his usual cocky self. Won on points in the end, but I'm not a fan of the overly cocky stuff. Hope someone sticks one on him like they did Prince Naseem.

Not seen the Selby one yet but I get what you mean, some guys are impossible to take to.

Yeah Benn really could be the real deal he's a beast and physically just too strong for lads like that it's like man against boy. He'll be up the weights in years to come I think, pity Chris Jnr is super middle now :p

Groves making hard work of it tonight. Good body punch to finish it, but judging off their last couple of fights, Eubank will spank Groves over 12 rounds. My prediction is Eubank to end it within 8 rounds.

Groves is a crafty operator he often looks ready to go but he isn't he uses the ropes on purpose at times but he's as vicious a puncher as you'll see at that weight these days. Defence is ragged though and he's open to big shots so i'd favour Eubank & Smith to catch him although if you go at him you've got to stay on him till he gases, give him a sniff and bang he'll have you. Nobody bounced Froch like he did over those 2 fights so that's a measure of his offensive skills.
Can't stand the guy but he's a cracking fighter and a mature one now so fair play he's kind of grown on me, still want Chris Jnr to spank him though.

I love watching groves ,throw back fighter and I think he does eubank in 3 or 4.
Did you see one of the earlier fights on the bill ,the worst coward punched I've seen in pro boxing .The ref said umpteen times break and he spun the guy round and as they broke he sparked him and was rightly DQ

Agree on Groves I've always liked watching him and rated him he's a brilliant offensive fighter the way he picks his shots with both hands and the power is world class. He is vulnerable though which makes for good viewing, genuinely split on him and Eubank it's all about if Chris Jnr can live with him for 8 rounds, if he does he wins imo as Groves does run out of steam. Wouldn't be surprised though if GG ended it quick.

As for that cheating tosser he should be suspended for a bit for that punch it was blatant. Not often you see a guy who's been knocked out win a fight :grinning:

Some big KO's last night although a few real miss matches !

Good effort from Chorleys Jack Catterall tonight against slick Tyrone Nurse. Zapped Nurse early on with meaty shots then made him fight his fight most of the night.

Big big win AND NEW..........
