Boycotting

To be honest id rather pine and hurt on match days than give anything else to condoning the venkyscum.
Your comments Abbey seem to represent someone who is happy to have a good stamp and moan and swear but essentially grit their teeth and bare it because it'll be over soon.

It's been 6.5 years. And there's no indication of any kind to suggest it won't be at least the same again. As I said the Oystons are on 30 years and look as likely to sell as Blackpool is to float off into the Irish Sea.

Bottom line, you're angrily waiting for a train that's gonna take a long, long, long time to come. I'd look at finding a new equilibrium with Rovers unless you can put up with being in this irritated limbo for what could easily end up being a quarter of your life.

They have tried just about most things dave that people have suggested but they've done them wrong and at the wrong time plus they've obviously taken the wrong advice over and over again. Their actions now imo resemble those of rabbits caught in car headlights.

Exactly Simon. hence my burning deck comparison.

Abbey note the final paragraph of my post 77. I did request we place emphasis on more constructive comment. Criticism is one thing but more important is the plan going forward should the day dawn when they do leave. We can't just wait to see which way the wind is blowing and trust to luck.

I've personally tried and in all honesty I now think we're knackered.
Brockhall will be next, mark my words, there may be covenants and perhaps a moratorium but if it's not financially sustainable, which it clearly isn't currently, what next?

The best way fwd with Brockhall imo and without seeing any figures is too hire out the facilities with other Rugby / Football clubs who cannot afford similar set ups.

Drog is right. The Venkys have decided that they are not going to put any more money into the club and I don't believe there is any more they can take out. The club has to finance itself from gate money and transfer fees so boycotting is not affecting the owners but is definitely affecting the club. The less we put in, the less we get out and the less likely we are to get somebody to pick up the reins if the Venkys walk away and ditch us. If we drop down another division and lose the academy we are a worse prospect to finance. Think about it logically, buy your season tickets and get down to Ewood.

If Venkys are going nowhere as we're led to believe, they have to continue to put money in to make up the massive shortfall or the club will go bust. As things stand, every grand from a supporter is a grand less for Venkys to chuck in.
If they said, we're committed to putting in x amount to sustain the club on an ongoing basis and any extra will go to transfer funds etc, then that would be a different matter but they haven't.

Don't get me wrong, I despise Venkys and see no end in sight to the procession of jokers and conmen that go through the revolving door of the club.

It might be possible to be pragmatic about the financial situation under Venkys. But their choice of managers, chairmen and board members has been, and continues to be, diabolical, catastrophic, unforgiveably woeful.

Asleep at the wheel since Anderson sabotaged it early doors is the most generous analysis I can muster. At worst they've bungled a pre-meditated asset strip.

They've eroded my equilibrium with Rovers from ST holder and mid-week obsessive to picking and choosing games and sometimes forgetting we're playing. But I've accepted I'm that type of fan now and will be until they go or the fans start a new club. Which either way I know is gonna be a while.

My advice would be to be selfish. Decide what type of fan you want to be rather than what you think you have to be, and then make peace with it.

But with respect Gav - it clearly is having a continued impact on your (and others ) lifes. We have NO control and that is what is so bloody frustrating, but unfortunately we have to accept it, or go stark staring crazy
They are clearly going nowhere until they decide - The ***** (use expletive of choice!!)
The bottom line is Steve I feel I've taken back control by not going, I keep telling myself that I've only a passing interest in the current goings on and often I have.

Venkys no longer ruin my Saturdays/Tuesdays because I don't go, the results still matter, but no more than a passing interest because I've taken that control back.

But make no mistake about it, once they crawl back under the rock in Pune we'll have season tickets, its not even debatable, we're signed up and back in the game and that clocks ticking.

Every so often you'll hear/read something that highlights this whole sorry debacle, or something that hits you a little harder than the usual depressing narrative. The prospect of a quarter of one's life being lived under the 'stewardship' of Venky's over Ewood is just one of those instances. That is a scary thought.

Yeah absolutely. I'm just very thankful that I was lucky enough to enjoy the Walker era. Feel sorry for teenagers now who can remember little before Venkys.

We are all in the same boat, stuck between wanting us to win and do well but also right in the back of the mind wanting failure to push away the Venkys. They have gone way past the point of no return with most if not all supporters, and that is what we are supposed to be, supporters of this club.

Like most on here and brfcc I am born blue and white and I'm trying to keep my son interested however I will not buy a season ticket for next season. I've been to a few games this year and it hurt putting my pin number in and paying for tickets, nothing spent in the shop or rovers player etc...

Honestly they know they will never get any money back and I'm sure they are trying someway to punish us and show they can do what they want with our club, this is where the FA are shamefully unfit for purpose.

I'll be back as soon as they are gone with season tickets and shirts etc, I expect we will head into administration at some point and sorry to say it but good, bring it on sooner the better.

Not even tempted. :/
Why's that, toppers? I can understand not going to home games and not giving Venkys your hard earned. Just wondered why you were not tempted by an away game. Btw, not sure how far Reading is away from where you are.
