I did manage to watch the second half…..!!
That was truly embarrassing! An awful performance equivalent to -4 points as our GD has taken a right hammering and with Leeds to come! At least Birmingham lost and Stoke.

Yessssss. Big Club lose at home and are in the bottom 3.

The amazing thing is that we have been dog shite for months on end yet still have 6 teams below us. 😆🤔.

Crumbs of comfort - especially as I had Cardiff at home down as an easy home win for Brum Screenshot_20240410-225105~2.png

Prediction Champion 2021 & 2022
5-0! Hyam not at fault this time as he decided to stand all alone marking the penalty spot as bristol striker ran past him to finish on the six yard line.
Pathetic
In what universe did Eustace think it was a good idea to take off Wharton for McFadzean and leave Hyam on for the second half?

Well, that's 84 professional league games for the manager with 24 wins. His record here is 1 win 8 draws and 4 defeats. By the end of the season, I predict it will be 2 wins 8 draws and 7 defeats. Is he the manager to take us forward into the championship next season I wonder? Of course, I believe our only further points will come this season in a win against the wendys. We will lose the rest.

I aint very confident at all
If Coventry win their game in hand - it will give them a real pop at the play-offs and we are in deep shit!
Sheff Weds will be looking at us as their target at a realistic chance to survive
I think our best hope lies in Leicester sealing promotion before they play us

Kinell! For some reason gooz has found a reason to give me the review armband for a coup[le of games. Here goes and it won't be pleasant.
I, along with I suspect a number of others expected the newly restored BRFC to get at least a point tonight. Bristol with nothing to play for would be pressured with the type of endeavour and spirit that we have seen the Rovers produce in the last few weeks. It was nothing of the sort, it wasn't even a defeat of note, it was a humiliation plain and simple. The Rovers were never at the races, disjointed, clueless, surrender monkeys whichever disparaging terms can be used to describe them are valid! Bristol for every minute of the game were first to the ball... and the second ball and often even the one after that. A performance of abject dross whichever way one looks at it as a rovers fan. No spirit, no desire, no idea and even worse in my book, no pride!
Lets just pity the poor ever faithful who travelled all the way down to Bristol and likely won't be home yet.

Anyway sod em, enough said and onto the marks.

Pears ... 6 Could do sod all with most of the goals and especially with that shower of a defence in front of him.

Brittain... 4 Poor and his mistake lead via Hyam's stupid lunge to gift Bristols second goal.

Hyam... 2 and that 2 is an act of kindness! Never have I seen a worse display from a centre half in the blue and white halves. I'd say he was directly responsible for 4 out of the 5 Bristol goals! A shocking and unprofessional performance to easily outdo Shane Duffy's display at Brighton..

Wharton... 6 For some reason Scott developed a bad back and had to go off. Why Carter wasn't preferred at that point to Hyam and even Macfadzean I can't begin to explain.

Pickering... 4 Poor performance and his mistakes almost lead to a couple of goals.

Tronstad .... 5 Largely anonymous. Is he really a stronger influence than Trav? Just as an aside exactly why DID JDT pack him off to Ipswich?

Rankin Costello... 5 Tried hard to lead by example, earned a booking as a result and was wisely not risked by Eustace for the second half.

Dolan.... 4 He's been a real bonus of late but tonight his form had gone badly awol this evening.

Markanday... 5 Arguably Saturday's MoM but not tonight. Little of what he attempted actually came off.

Szmodics... 5 Couple of chances that he got he spewed with profligate finishing. The rest of the time he cast an anonymous figure.

Gallagher... 4 Two left feet for most of the night and never troubled the Robin's defence one bit. Back to the type of performance that resembles Bambi on ice.

Subs

Buckley... 6 (45 mins JRC) Became the fulcrom of midfield but struggled to build anything productive with his teammates being so far off the pace.

Chrisene... 4 (45 mins Dolan) Second touch is all too often a tackle. I don't want to see him next season.

Moran... 3 (45 mins Markanday) Did he even come on? If he did I didn't notice.

Macfadzean... 5 (45 mins Wharton) Comic cuts handball moment that lead directly to the second penalty. Booked for apparently telling Madley that his decision stunk.

Garrett.... N/A

Manager John Eustace.. 3 Just as I thought he'd turned the squad and the results around this abomination! Tonights team was never at the races from start to finish. Where was the squad unity and spirit that we've seen of late? The team were never even close to competing with City. The attitude of the team that he sent out was disgraceful.

Referee Robert Madley... 4 Not his finest hour but pretty much in keeping with his usual refereeing of Rovers matches.

Having slept well and calmed down after nights debacle my carefully worded commemts on the game are:

“That was f’ing sh!t, an embarrassment, and a joke. That was one of the worst performances ever. Hyam did not make a single tackle. Heads need to roll throughout our club. Muppets”.

That was an utter disgrace. Hyam is an appalling defender and has been most of the season. After JDT sacking and the Wharton sale I vowed I would not go onto ewood until the owners, senior management and now include the manager leave. Enough is enough.
Hyam reminds me of Bradley Orr quick to moan about the fans in this fans meeting, gesticulating at the riverside and then turn in horrendous performances. Last night was amongst the worst I’ve seen from a player in rovers colours.
I’m not asking for brilliant performances just pride and from top to bottom including the managers post match interview it stunk of total disrespect for the fans. Not surprised really it’s been like that since Venkies appeared.

2 is very very generous for hyam we’d have been better with 10 men

In hindsight 1 point was for putting his boots on the right feet and the 2nd was for tying them.

Some good comments here, valid criticism without too many stupid comments. I've chosen to select a post just before the first goal on 24 minutes. Hyam getting the blame of course as he should but it's difficult to get past the fact that this match was fairly even until hyam's nightmare contributions gifted them the match . We certainly struggled with Bristol's high press and eustace must take some blame for that but I wonder how we'd have got on if Hyam had been injured in training yesterday and Carter had played?

Today I am ashamed to admit to being a Rovers supporter. Is it possible to sack a player in mid contract? Hyam should be sacked along with the pensioner Macfadzean. Their displays were beyond tragic.

I cannot for the life of me understand why Carter hasnt fitted straight back in, unless he isnt fit or JE is judging him on training

Sorry but for me he gets a nod ahead of Wharton if all things are equal

Christ knows what has happened to Hyam but Carter/Wharton has to be the way forward

Thing I can't understand is that as a defender when you are having a 'mare' the way back is to play yourself in by going back to the basics and that is always safety first.
