tbh BB I can't rem the last time I had a package holiday overseas it was so long ago. We tend to holiday in the uk now the kids have flit the nest although I do enjoy the occasional european 3/4 day city breaks (Lisbon in spring) plus an annual golfing break. I can't rem the last time that I was away for longer than a week. Brecon was a friends wedding (you are right the countryside around there is beautiful) and I stayed for a long weekend with 10 others in a large 6 bedroomed house in Anglesey a fortnight ago for another friends 60th birthday celebration. Dined in the Marram Grass restaurant too.

As for farm cottage breaks / chalets / statics they are OK but I can't really see the point given that where I live is usually much better in every aspect (the tide goes out too far by about 20 miles though:rolleyes:). Must say I do fancy installing a good sauna though.
I do like to get to Madeira for a week every year and hopefully the States (Chicago, Boston, NYC) for a week also.

Most of our hols are in the UK these days. You must look at this place in Dumfries and Galloway: www.orroland.com. I used to take my daughters every year and my oldest loved it so much she got married there last year, I booked the 3 properties for a week and we all had a fantastic time. It is ideal for dogs and is less than 2 hours drive.

I have a mate who was born and still lives on Anglesey. He just took severance from Wylfa Power Station and has just bought a house in Amlwch Port with his severance to do up as a holiday let - I hope to be an early customer and will tell you what it is like. Mind you his own Cottage is lovely, best sea view on the Island and 5 acres of land left to wildlife.

Fortunately he did not have to endure the game live.
May as well give up on football if a 3-0 away win is something you have to endure. I feel like the barometer for what constitutes entertainment in football is pushed higher every season. Can honestly see a time when our fans would complain about the entertainment of a game like the 7-1 win over table toppers Norwich in 1992 because the opposition didn't turn up.

I used to have some great holidays in Anglesea when the kids were young. Four families all went together and we always seem to have had some decent weather. I suppose everything seems better in retrospect. Now Anglesea, and anywhere else in the UK, is OK for a weekend away but we now prefer the guaranteed wall to wall sunshine in the Canaries or the Greek Islands. Wind and rain don't do it for me any more.

Yes, I get your point. I celebrated all 3 goals, excellent goals, with everyone else. However I always do have expect more from my Rovers. I guess this League is about clawing out results rather than playing good football. Sadly ToMo has not yet exactly shown his ability to do either.

We should be much better at retaining possession. It's quite simple if only the players can get the hang of actually doing more graft and running when in possession than when not in possession. I like to see players playing off their toes (always on the front foot) and not off their heels.

Liverpool in the 70's were famous for it. Shanks drilled into them that when a Liverpool player has the ball he should always have the option of 3 teammates (min) to pass to in the direction that he is facing. When he's made the pass then instead of admiring and ball watching it he should be running into space to make himself available for a return pass. Simple but effective. The only time that he wanted his players to try something different and in doing so risk losing possession was in and around the opponents penalty area. He recognised that 'robotic football' as displayed on the rest of the pitch would not lead to goals and that was down to individual brilliance. They had Thompson, Keegan and Heighway for that job. Step forward Dack and Chapman for BRFC.
Barca too play possession football and under Guardiola they had the famous 7 second rule.... lose the ball and you must win it back within 7 seconds.

Bury won 1-0. An amazing result. I wonder what the Shrews fans forums are like - putting the knife in?
