CARUMBUMBUMBAWUMBAWOOWOOP CUP

Barmitzvah Boy

Global winner of the 2021 Christmas Quiz 👊🤩🤩
Coco Cup. Can’t wait. I might go to Carlisle, I have a few mates up there who support them.

Virgin run trains from Preston to Carlisle by the way. I don't know about the return trip though especially if extra time is required. I passed through Carlisle for the Newcastle game in Nov 2016 and station looked like a building site then but presumably the work is finished now. I'm not planning on attending this to find out.

Actually I can't remember but think some clubs (Premier League) are exempt from having to play extra time aren't they under new rules? Might just be some ridiculous "one rule for some" type though. Or it might be Premier League clubs have the advantage of being allowed to have VAR. Rovers certainly could use that facility but I don't know if Championship clubs can for whatever reason in this tournament. Very fair. While I don't like VAR anyway don't see how later knockout rounds has some clubs being allowed to use it while others can't. It's hardly comparable to FA Cup extra preliminary round and the late stages.

I don't mind the Carabao Cup scrapping extra time though would prefer the FAC to keep it. European knockout tournaments should as well. I don't want the FAC to have North/South in the early rounds either though don't mind this tournament doing it. Of course it's still a worthwhile cup competition (2002 after all is the ultimate example of that where Rovers are concerned) but more open to a few rules being tweaked than I would be for the FAC. While League campaigns are a greater reflection of endurance the FAC should retain a bit of that by keeping ET, replays, etc. I think the Carabao final is an exception and will still have ET if needed.

Thought there's no extra time across the board Vinjay (I'm still not going to go).
