Well despite all the snidy comments, I've just got back from London and would not necessarily question the team selection and why who played wherever but would comment that for me, today was the most committed Rovers away display of the season. To a man, they all bust a gut, battled and worked their absolute tripe out.
On any other day, with a fair minded ref, the rub of the green, a 4 or 5 to 1 win wouldn't have flattered us at all.
I was proud to be a Rover today because of the fans but more importantly, it wasn't the team we'd have liked to have seen but despite any deficiency, they displayed what the blue and white shirt means, for me, you can't ask for more.

It's funny how different the game is when you actually see it!

I saw plenty today to say both 'he's a real player, I'm excited' and 'sorry son you're on your bike'
The effort, drive and determination that all Rovers players put in today was fantastic and the best I've seen for years.
We are the Rovers !

Hopefully TM saw that too and it was one of the reasons for putting out the team that he did.
Lots of decisions to be made during the summer.

after a long hard season,we took our foot off the gas,i expected us to lose to charlton and i expect us to lose next week, play a weakened side, well do these guys not deserve a game, sorry but after the Lords mayor show, and all that.
No the paying public, and there were over 3,000 travelled to Charlton, deserve the best team we could turn out in an attempt to win the league. They were let down and short changed. The players too were denied the chance to win the medals that they deserved. Mowbray let everybody down on Saturday and needs to be told he was wrong to do so. Close season is the time to recover from minor injuries.
I did see the game Darrenrover and we badly missed the likes of Dack, Bennett and for most of the game Graham. We sadly lacked a central strike force.

Well reported Darrenrover! At last a common sense post. I swear some people must take their holidays on Fantasy Island!

Just to add ... I forecast yesterday's slump on these pages. I pointed out that teams that get either promoted or relegated frequently see a change in fortunes and results. Seems pertinent at this point to remind some people that since guaranteeing their place in the Championship next season that Wigan have just scraped 2 points from 6 against bottom half teams and NOT might I add against a team scrapping for a play off position. I wonder if the pie eaters supporters are writing angry messages to all and sundry?

I don't think that Wigan fielded half a reserve team though did they. It must be a boring place where you take your holidays Drog if you are so ready to accept second best. I'm not.

I haven't checked tbh Al. I'll nominate you for that task as I have stuff to do in the garden.

Some however might opine that if Wigan fielded their first team that thumped Fleetwood a few days back to ensure their promotion, that my opinion about players mentality taking an involuntary dip was valid. Reading darrenrovers account the 'squaddies' did actually put some real effort and desire into the match.*

* It's my opinion based on nowt from Sat tbh as I didn't go and haven't read any reports apart from on here that the 1st signing that we need to make is a Danny Graham No2 because we have no one else who can remotely do his job and play back to goal and hold the ball up for teammates. Replacing him with Samuel and even worse Nuttall changes the entire emphasis of our attack. In fact it pulls the teeth of the entire team. We have some superb 'inside forwards' (need to sign Armstrong permanently and asap) but without a DG up top they are by-passed.

1/ Sorry but I have to get my golf clubs out of the garage to give them a good cleaning. It's two years since I played, but I feel a lot better now, and my mate next door and I spotted an offer from Groupon to play a championship course in Cheshire, including bacon butties and a brew for £29 total for a two ball. There are sit on buggies for hire so it is too good to miss.
In any case apart from Nick Powell, Devante Cole and Will Grigg I wouldn't know who were in the Wigan squad if they bit me on the arse. Nor would I care.
Having said that, even if he is a bit of a prima donna I wouldn't mind Powell in the Rovers team.

2/ After watching that match without Graham and Dack you are spot on that it is absolutely essential that we recruit a Danny Graham No2. We had no central attack whatsoever yesterday and with the best will in the world Graham and Dack are not going to play 90 minutes of every game next season. Another No 9 who can hold up the ball is essential. Samuel can't do it but I do see enough in him to persevere a bit longer. He did well in the early part of the season.
It was also obvious that, on yesterdays showing, Jack Payne is no substitute for Dack. He did nothing yesterday although he saw a lot of the ball. I think we need to look elsewhere for a Dack understudy. Strange because he has a good reputation where he has played before.

I see Armstrong as the one to share Dack's duties. imo he's a 'must sign' if the price is right and if he wants to sign for us. We have no idea what remuneration he is on though as Premier League wages are mostly impossible to match with our income and that could be a stumbling block, although one hope is that I don't think he'll be very high up the food chain at NUFC..
Chapman might be cheaper as he's currently at a Championship club, however he's a different type of player altogether and there is a question mark over his hamstring problems.
I doubt Jack Payne will be on massive money at Huddersfield so we might easily end up with him. Very good footballer but not as effective as the other two imo.

For those who went to Charlton, we know what the atmosphere was like throughout London. We got promotion at Doncaster and yesterday was just a party, the electricity flowed from Euston onwards.
Everyone expected a weakened team, we actually played well considering, should’ve got a point at least. What pleased me was the unity of the support, the songs, the belief, the pubs outside London Bridge, the congregation outside the Sainsbury’s near the Valley, the train to & from, the overall relief.
Our support does need a mention, really good all season, this last week was fantastic, the relief & raw abandon at Doncaster, the ‘belligerence’ for the want of a better word yesterday.
I’ve had to delete my brfcs page from my phone today due to the nonsense about yesterday’s result, too much wingeing. Please don’t let this happen here. East Lancastrian’s do love a moan I know, but let’s enjoy what we have, use the momentum of the team & support into next season, and remember how bloomin good it is to be a Rover.

Rovers can still win the league . I’d have taken that after the first day defeat at Southend . I’m going to enjoy the Oxford game more than any other game at Ewood in God knows how long , win , lose or draw .

I’m not an away fan anymore , but our support on the road has been nothing less than phenomenal this season . Those who have travelled the length and breadth of the country filling out away ends fortnight in , fortnight out have put the pride back into Blackburn Rovers. I thank them for that and thank TM and his players for their magnificient efforts too

Let’s all enjoy this success . Saturdays like this Saturday don’t come along that often . I’m sure we’ll get a bigger crowd than any Burnley have got this season in the Premiership . It’s days like this that make supporting the famous blue and white halves so special .

Up the Rovers

On the basis of your post I just had a quick look at the ‘other side’ site. 122 pages to date on ‘....the surrender of the title’.

FFS......we should be thanking Mowbray for what he has done for Rovers over 46 games rather than a bitch fest over 1 game.

I cannae believe it..........

Welcome to roversfans jumpin. We are small (at present) but perfectly formed.

They really do. Anyway I was not happy with the selection however we simply needed to get out of this league so it is job done. I guess the Wigan boss got to me a bit and I wanted to pip them, we still could do. It will be interesting what team is put on Saturday.

Jumpin, we parked at the top of the hill about a mile from the ground, as we got out the car we could hear 'Tony had a dream' being belted out, that was the big group outside the supermarket, made my lads day and he sang along all the way down the hill. Yes we could be heard a mile away.

What spoiled it a bit were a couple of idiots throwing beer from the back of the bar area, beer is expensive FFS.

Good day out but still would have rather we had played a full team, what do we know, leave it to Tony..
