Surprise suprise another midfielder. Maybe a replacement for Smallwood?
I'd say so although I'm sure that I read that he can play right back too. I really like Smallwood. He has the right attitude without a doubt. However imo he's a little out of his depth at this level.

New lad is 23. Another feature of tm’s recruitment policy

Reed in, now for a striker.
l like the use of 'We' so early.
“The club is going in the right direction with the momentum from last season and the start we have had this season. I'm told we have been unlucky not to have won a couple more games.”

Really enjoying some of the comments from Mowbrey.

The Rovers boss believes it may take the former Everton and England midfielder a week or two to get fully up to speed, but he was impressed with what he saw from the 27-year-old in training on Friday morning.

"He has to get his boots on and train," added the manager.

"He has to show me that he can do the things that this team does. He has to run and tackle and pass and chase and fight.

"He'll have to do that in training for a week or two before he gets in our squad.

"He trained on Friday and I don't really know what foot he kicks with because he's got amazing composure off both feet.

"Outside of his left foot, he's pinging it 30 yards. Outside of his right foot, he's pinging it 40 yards.

"He's got lovely composure. I don't think anyone should question Jack Rodwell's talent, because he has played for England and Man City and Everton.

"We'll find out about his personality and character and spirit and whether he can become part of this group."

Super stuff Tony.

That's the kind of language which makes a young man stand up and want to try. Mowbray just told him he's an amazing individual player. It's up to Rodwell to get fit and prove he can be part of a proper team.

Lot's of influences already in place here. Mowbray has instilled togetherness within the squad and the players in the squad itself will do as much as anyone to ensure that Rodwell and any other newbies will fight for the cause.

What's happening with Brereton, reading on the other site they are talking like it's done. Nothing confirmed from what I can see.

Karanka said after the match Saturday that he was more or less leaving.Quite a few rumours doing the rounds he was in Whalley with Armstrong yesterday.Multiple media outlets reporting everything agreed.

Too much smoke without there to be a fire imo but will rest easier when we have announced it.Perhaps pre match tonight

Chapman returning
That's bloody great news!
I just hope the injuries aren't now in the back of his mind and haven't slowed his game down. The Harry Wizzbang Chapman of last season is one potent attacking weapon. Great utility player that he is Bennet is not the best winger in the world. Neither is Samuel and Conway's best days and 90 minute matches are behind him.
Whichever specialist can keep this kids hammys in working order needs to be hired as soon as Pulis delivers him to us.

Please let it be true. It is the Daily Mail and dependant on Boro getting Saville, but Harry Whizzbang is the most exciting player I've seen for a while (with apologies to Bradley Dack).

Not sure what you’re basing your opinion on Drog.
Yes, he had some flashes of attacking flair but was rarely trusted for a full match as his defensive side was non-existent.
He had his major injury at Wigan away in October and didn’t feature for us for the rest of the season (i.e. during our rise to the top three and onwards).
Chapman is an injury-prone luxury player IMO.

He's an improvement on Connor Mahoney but with a sting. I'd imagine TM will see him as a perfect super sub to introduce should we need a goal in the last 20 mins. Last thing any full back want's to see is him warming up and taking his tracksuit off at the side of the pitch.
