Any good player on the cheap is fine by me and with the two new attack minded signings of Armstrong and Payne (and hopefully the retention of Dack), plus Mowbray's preference for attacking full backs I think we have a definite need for a deep sitter in midfield to cover back and to protect the defence. Of course if you think Whittingham and Evans will do a better job in that position Al then that's your opinion, but my opinion is that they won't / can't.

Yes it will. Try reading the other site. My sainted aunt would do a better job than Lowe. Yes that's my opinion from watching the clown for years. Whittingham and Evans at least are footballers. Not Lowe.

Is that the Keith Andrews who was a regular starter the season we finished 10th in the Premier League? I'd take a new Andrews all day long at this level, just as I'd take an old Lowe.
Recognition that the level of football matters seems to be going out the window these days. Andrews was a premier league player, Lowe was a Championship player. Half of our current lot are League 1 players. I had a stormer at the Soccerdome last Wednesday night, does that mean I’m better than Andrews and Lowe too?
If fan goodwill vanishes because a loyal servant to the club comes back to play for us, we don’t have any fans. Just petulant, fickle customers.
Don't bring Murphy into it. He is a pillock. and I strongly disagree with you too. Whittingham may not be the quickest any more but at least he can pick a pass and has a football brain. I would try as hard as Lowe but I don't have any talent either. Lowe is a liability and signing him would upset a lot of recently returned supporters. Mowbray is a fool if he does that just when things are looking up.

You are right Alan, he can pick a pass if he has 10 yards of space, but is he willing to dig in and graft? challenge for even a 60/40 ball (in his favour)? make himself available? (instead of hiding, or more precisely snookering himself)

As I've said before, if Lowe does come, providing it's for a sensible L1 wage, I wouldn't be too pissed off.
None of us has seen him play in L1, he would be under a different manager and could prove to be a decent squad player.
