Why do we never hear this kind of talk from TM?
His lack of enthusiasm can only filter through to players and fans alike
He is the MANAGER - that's his job
It drives me nuts!!
His job is to manage the players and get results. You need to ask the reporter. He's the one who asks the questions and writes the article. No one knows what goes on between TM and his squad and nor do I expect them too. It's all only newspaper fill;er anyway.

I just hope the V’s get the right man (or woman 🧐) in for the job and give them a decent working budget subject to FFP of course.
Well according to waggy they have sold up.

BUT.... Famous words that I read time and again on BRFCS after the sacking of Big Sam. And look what that got us. Sorry but there is no question that Mowbray is the best Manager that we've had since Sam so I just don't get all this continual calling for his head. BB you were wanting him out in then autumn then you went deathly quiet during our excellent run of results and now you are forming a hanging party again.

As far as a decent budget, in these times of excessive inflation and particularly in the food supply chain what do you think are the chances of that?

Have you thought that through BB? Really? That is not really what I would describe as displaying joined up thinking. Here we are 6 matches from the end of what has been a pretty successful campaign (certainly on our resources and in the company of those around us ... Luton excepted) with a very focused, determined and as far as I can see 'together' squad and you want to change the Manager???? Presumably on the back of a chance goal scored when the players should have been celebrating a win in the showers. You'd never have written that if the Ref had blown when he should have.
I should have qualified it as GoGo at the end of the season not now.

So its the journalists fault that he is so downbeat?

Going or staying wasn't my point
My point, and I have mentioned it quite a few times is that.........

TMs job is motivation - if it works on the pitch it transmits to the terrace
Look at "the little welsh git" - He bugs the fuck out of me - but he is positive and that transmits through the club

You never here any player complain about TM,they all respect him even Charlie Mulgrew had not one ounce of bitterness to him he understood TM policy at the time,he will soon be gone we have one Calendar month left in a season many were dreading,if we make the playoffs all good and well if we don't there's always next season.

I get what you're saying Steve but players such as Dack are men and they can often inspire and motivate in the dressing room and on the pitch in ways that a manager can’t do.
It always brought me massive pride when one of my tutor group got the other kids going and motivated over a particular thing. I never felt threatened by it and if motivation comes from within a group then it’s usually more effective and long term.
That’s not to say Mowbray doesn’t do it. I’m sure he does it on the training pitch or in his office or wherever.
I’ve listened to nearly all of his interviews and I find him very interesting to listen to. His knowledge of football, formations, players and clubs is amazing born out of a career in football over 40 years.
The comments from ex and current players are generally of the positive kind speaking highly of his personal approach and demanding standards.
However, I do think he will be leaving us at the end of the season and I really hope he gets us at least into the playoffs as a fitting finale.

Its about time he used some of that knowledge then..........and played people in their positions?

Much the same with allardyce. Lots of Joe public who have had dealings with him don't appear to like his personality but his ex players when giving their opinions certainly seem to respect him as a top football manager.

I don't believe Giles is at his best on the right but if my memory serves me correctly KMD played lots of his players out of their recognised positions. We bought a good left winger in le saux yet Kenny played him at left back and he played for England. Kenny bought a striker in warhust and played him right back. Berg too was a CH who Kenny converted to right back. Sutty was a centre half at Norwich but Kenny played him up front.
I do take your point but that lot all seemed to work ok in their reinvented positions didn't they

I suppose as long as the manager can justify his decisions to the players and they understand the thinking about their positions on the pitch for a particular match then so be it. I know Mowbray has spoken in the past about modern day players as flexible footballers being ready on occasions to play on the right or left. Giles has occupied both sides as we know. Players switch position more frequently these days during games but as I say if the players understand what’s expected of them then it’s down to the manager. He lives and dies by the result.

Correct, it's obvious that BBD is no left winger yet he developed a scoring touch when instead of aiming to get to the by line as a provider he cut inside to bring his right footed curling far post shot into the equation. Giles as a left footer is better and more comfortable at delivering a cross than striking a shot..... imo

I take your point but Sutton was playing at Centre Forward and scoring goals at Norwich before we bought him. It was Norwich who made the switch from CH.

He was indeed. Perhaps Norwich decided that was the best place for him after Shearer gave him such a mauling at Ewood.

lets get our best players on the pitch
Just so long as the medics and physios agree waggy. I thought I'd detected Dack running with a limp at Coventry and he was awol when Dayo put that bloody cross in. Nob End won't be taking prisoners against us remember.
