Come on, that free kick was unstoppable!
A superb free kick into the very top corner without a doubt and one that mixes exceptional talent with lots of practice, Messi got his head well over the ball and 'punched' it rather than swung at it full power. However Messi was a long way out and he'd 'stolen' at least two yards from the place of the original foul whilst on the other hand Allison stood too much to his left and showed him too much room. I know Suarez was also standing over the ball to give the right footed option into the other corner (why don't we do that? I've been banging on about that basic for years) but it's very small margins that make the difference at that level.

Should we have a poll which was most unstoppable shot? Both left peggers btw. Messi's free kick above v Vrancic's impossible swerve against us last Saturday. My vote goes to Vrancic btw.

Can’t compare the two, Messi’s was a deadball free kick, the Norwich one had the ball moving to aid momentum. Messi is the greatest living player and possibly all time in my opinion.

Raya would have saved both of the Norwich goals, as he’s smaller than your average keeper he gets down quicker than the Canadian.

I beg to differ there ODB, I've a strong feeling that Raya could have got the first as Leutwiler seemed slow to get down but neither Raya nor anyone else would have got close to Norwich's second. It was about getting up to the top corner not down, it set off straight for 10 yards before it swerved so much I thought at first that it had been deflected off William's head.
Watch the swerve on this from the camera behind the goals (35 secs).

Any chance we had with that shot evaporated with Williams ducking out of the way! It's a feature of schoolboy football but why does it still happen with experienced professionals? It bloody well shouldn't that's for sure.

Smiling about it too! Dick! He wouldn't be smiling if Fergy was his Manager that's for sure. Anyway that'll be his last ever pen I'm thinking.

I've really no idea what he was trying to do there.

I'm sure this will happen in the Prem shortly 😏
I wouldn’t hold your breath. Many years ago Dortmund had financial problems and needed a multi million loan immediately to put off being wound up or something similar. Bayern Munich provided that money!

I can’t see Man Utd giving Liverpool funds can you?

Messi hands in transfer request.
One last big pay day like Ronaldo arranged at Juve. I'd view him as on the wane and just about finished. I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Any deal will have to be by a mega club and funded largely by shirt sales and sponsorship and based on business before footballing reasons. tbh he'd probably flop because he's not as versatile as Ronaldo and has effectively had a team built around him at Barca.

Sounds to me like it's those bloody septics again. Nowt to do with football is it? They want to destroy an age old european institution for nothing but financial gain. tbh I'd be hopeful of seeing them losing their money

Champions League reformatted? How? The only way would be a European competition from the remaining leagues without the Billy Big Times included.
