FA CUP Wigan v Rovers Round 3 Jan 8th.

As my good friend, Andreas Dei and super Rovers fan, posted earlier it’s sad how Rovers, Burnley, Bolton, Blackpool and PNE have all gone out in Round 3. Clubs synonymous with the magic of the FA Cup and big names in the history of the game.

Why wasn't Pears subbed?
Any other position on the pitch playing so badly, you'd be replaced double quick.
Why is the keeper any different?
Unsettles the defence usually. Goalies need touches of the ball and warm ups really. Hence when you do see a goalie sub people are asking treams to test him shoot at him

I may be wrong but hadn’t we used all 3 subs before his brain freeze? However, I suppose he could have gone down injured and then we could have had an emergency sub for the last few minutes.

But if it was an injury he'd have to come on, so surely half time practice and preparation are enough?
Richie Smallwood did it in League 1 😁

You might be right.
I suppose it depends on what point in the match you decided it wasn't his day.

Apparently we were allowed 5! Subs to make that is.

Championship at West Brom, I’m not sure mate but all we can do as fans as a club is support Pears. He pulled of some great saves one in particular reactively I think at Stoke. He does have something not a total write off yet.

The first time I remember Pears starting was that cockup against Swansea (I think) where they scored in the first few seconds.
I was not optimistic when Kaminski was out and pears had to deputise but he did brilliantly.
Why he he regressed to the old Pears yesterday is beyond me.

Did the same at Sheff Wednesday similar to the first goal yesterday only it came from the left hand side. No disrespect to Ben Benson but a goalie coach who's never played pro level concerns me. Kaminski as good as he is hasn't improved and his kicking could do with some work.

No idea, someone said a loan out to flush his mistakes out and I think that would be a wise idea. We've Eastham highly rated and Stergiakis in reserve.

It's prob his best/only way fwd now. Like leutwiler and Walton he is never going to be quite good enough at championship level.

Fair point. I liked Walton only because I could see the defence had confidence in him whereas previously their confidence in Raya had been shot to pieces . No way the reaction shot stopper that Raya was but he got the hanging crosses which Raya was dreadful at. He wasn't a great keeper and I knew that he'd never make it as a Prem keeper as was his intention when he returned to Brighton. Kaminsky is a great improvement on the lot of them

Mmmmm I like Raya,I like Fisher, and I think Kaminski is a tad overacted. Not a patch on our best Keepers like Brad,Roger and Terry.

I agree but Terry Gennoe was good,Shay Given was unlucky, and Roger Jones will always be my first no 1.
And me, it will always be king Roger at the top of the list.
Kaminski isn't a whole lot better than Raya when it comes to kicking out but as a sweeper type keeper he is exceptional.
Raya has been outstanding for Brentford and is more than holding his own at that level - even though some on here still think he will fail
(just cant accept they were wrong ?)

Just watched the goals from sat.We should have been Two up before halftime, but Pears had a mare. But he has credit in the bank as far as I'm concerned. He can't play that bed again

Raya at 23 is twice the keeper Kaminski will ever be.
