No. You load the money up via your debit card on a one off basis for each investment. It is only taken out of your account if the crowdfunding goes ahead after the 30 days.

It depends on what you can afford to win, or lose. Every investment is a one off, not a regular monthly investment, and is only available for 30 days.

The other option you may consider is conventional shares via an online dealer such as HL, Halifax Sharedealing or AJ Bell.

conventional shares are so time consuming and need 24/7 attention...i may have a little dabble and see how it goes. Is it best to go for example the 140+% or something different like the car parking one, i read about when i was in London .

I disagree. Conventional share dealing suffers from those who analyise 24/7. You should think long term and dividends.

Just have a look at opportunities on the Crowdcube site for the variety of opportunities and think about those that will ‘take off’ and are different.

In effect what happens is that, for example, you invest £1,000 in a EIS registered company you must advise the HMRC. You then get an additional £1,000 tax tree allowance for that tax year.

The advantage of conventional shares is that you can shelter them from tax by putting them in a Stocks and Shares ISA. Personally I do not bother with cash ISA’s as the interest rates are so poor. You can invest up to £20,000 each tax year and all profits and dividend gains in that, and future years, are tax free (unless the rules change in the future).

You can also keep additional shares outside of a Stocks and Shares ISA if you have reached your £20k annual allowance - what you can then do is a ‘Bed and Breakfast’ transaction the 1st day in the new tax year where you sell non-ISA shares and immediately invest in the new ISA year.

Please remember this is not advice!! Also on the HL investment platform website you can run a ‘dummy’ investment portfolio (no money is invested) to see how you get on.

SXX still around 25.5p but expecting it to climb, most business comentators reckon it will be 60p+ once production starts - they have plenty of forward orders for when production commences.

Just started to put modest amounts into Horizonte Minerals (HZZ) who are building a nickel mine in Brazil.

Really pleased with Royal Dutch Shell B Class shares today after a steady share price climb they have jumped 4.25% today after the cash dividend was reinstated, I always take reinvestment rather than cash.

Weir Group (valves and actuators for oil and gas) have been a great investment to date as have my long term punt on James Fisher (Barrow based) who are an impressive performer and dividend payer.

Any one else having any stock market joy or woes?

HZM Up 14% today. Sold and will buy again on the next fall. They are up and down faster than an Essex girls knickers.

Decided to take profit from Latin American funds and shift to this fund: ‘First State Asian Focus Accumulation’.

Also intending to invest in Burberry in early 2018. They are moving upmarket and focussing on Far East market and remove product from many ‘non luxury’ outlets. Profit margin per item will increase.

Fingers, and toes, crossed.

Not for me as I don’t invest in what I do not understand.

I decided not to do Burberry shares but went for Pure Circle instead as they supply alternatives to sugar for the soft drinks industry. They went up about 4% in my first week which is good for me, but of course not a sign for the future.
