Got to say , like TM , I’m at my wits end with the number and type of goals Rovers concede . It’s been a weakness the team just can’t seem to remedy .It’s so frustrating when the manager has players of skill and flair , but can’t seem to get the team to master the basics of defending as a unit .

I’m beginning to think that clubs the size of Rovers , PNE and others need a special type of manager , playing a certain type of football, to get them out of this league .

Might help if he changed his coaching staff. I see too many basics being ignored. Alternatively they could just sit the players down in front of all those screens and make them watch Burnley matches.

I noticed in the extended highlights on the Huddersfield website,how many times we were done by the back heel in the box when Nayambe went of, no one tracking back from the midfield and leaving the Huddersfield player free.

IMO our problem explained in a sentence
To be fair the only two that have shown even a token effort at defending have been Gallagher and Brereton, and that is possibly why he sticks with them
Without ALL the midfield doing hard yards we will always be vulnerable

Ben particularly, many’s the time he’s on our goal line chasing down an attacker. He never seems to get the credit for it though in some quarters.

I have been impressed with how much defensive work Brereton does, he is not afraid to put his body and head in when required. Could you see Chapman doing that?

Token effort indeed. Gallagher commendably tracked back with Sarr the other night and then totally lost him for the goal. I've been banging on here time and again about 11 players defending when the opponents have possession.

I can't tell you how often we were shouted at from the touchline to 'get goal side' and to 'stand him up' when I played and the other lot were in possession which is something I see the Rovers failing to do time and again. Hence the number of free crosses and free shots afforded to the opposition in and around our box and precisely why our defending is so brittle. How many clean sheets have we had in the past two seasons? It isn't many is it?

I see that Jodie Whittaker (the one in the preview who appears about to sneeze in bed) is jacking as Dr Who after this 3rd series. Well that's good news cos she and the scripts are pathetic these days.
Only question is who will replace her..... or more particularly being that it's the woke bbc of what minority background will he/she belong to? Let's be honest it's narrowed down after the BBC in recent times has introduced feminism and homosexuality into what is basically a children's show.

Ru Paul might be amongst the early favourites With I imagine Eddie izzard and Grayson Perry who could both be dressed as a woman one week and a bloke of sorts the next coming up on the rails. Any of those should confuse the kids enough to give them nightmares and parents a difficult job in coming up with an explanation.
