Weird id Guinness. 3/4 is my limit before I have to change. No idea why but the first pint is good, the second OK and by the time I'm on my 3rd /4th it becomes a 'burnt' taste in my mouth and that's when I go back on the lager.

I'm currently sat here, having watched Piers Morgan interview a serial killer, thinking it's not often you'd be on the side of a serial killer, but Morgan has ensured that's my position tonight.

What an arsehole Morgan is, trying to shame a guy that murdered 5 women in 70's rather than ask questions that give the viewer an insight into his behaviour.

The guy was far brighter than Morgan, and it showed...

Although mainly a ‘ Soul Man ‘ I’ve listened to three great and classic vinyl albums of old this morning . No Secrets ( Carly Simon ) , Tapestry ( Carole King ) and Sweet Baby James ( James Taylor ) Music heaven , they don’t write or sing them like that anymore .

......... just opening a bottle of Champagne , after a call from my son letting us know that his American wife is expecting twin girls - our first grandchildren, if all goes well , due in June .

I’m not sure how they’ll manage in their tiny Manhattan apartment , but a fantastic start to the New Year for us.

...........having a small glass of celebratory Buck’s Fizz as I’m now a very proud Grandad and wife is an incredibly proud Granny !

Twins safely delivered . Small babies at 5lb 6 oz and 4lb 6 oz respectively and a couple of weeks early , so being looked after in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit , but mother and girls are well .

New York here we come , more often than I ever dreamed of . Wonderful to have American grandchildren !
