Hey! we're not all daft you know Some of us can switch tv channels as wellI'd like to graph members ages sometime.... be interesting to see what the age spread is. It seems to me that plenty of 'senior' supporters have worked out how to switch a computer on.
You probably did all sorts of stuff if we're honestI was accused of all sorts of stuff by the site's owners , one who used to be a mate and the other who I classed as a mate .
Ha! Similar experience! Saw first game at Ewood in 1949 sitting on my Dad's shoulders. He did say it was against Man City but I've never checked that. Since I was 2 at the time can't remember a thing. But regular from about 1952 onwards. Not too many of us left brought up on a diet of Reg Elvy, Bob Langton, Bill Eckersley, Johnny Crossan ,Ronnie Suart and the like!Like several others I joined by following the link from BRFCC, but not as a protest I hasten to add.
I was taken to my first Rovers game in 1947 when we beat Charlton 1-0. they were the FA Cup holders having won 1-0 against the Dingles a couple of weeks earlier. Been hooked ever since, just hope I don't bore the pants off some of you younger ones when I start about "the good old days"
Long storyhtf do you get banned from a football site talking about brexit
Sorry I think I banned One of your accounts, wish I knew it wasn't you that posted the comments about Roversmum.htf do you get banned from a football site talking about brexit
Well done! Obviously a man of principle Tom. (.... takes one to know one). I guess the battle lines, the for and the againsts have been drawn up?Sorry I think I banned One of your accounts, wish I knew it wasn't you that posted the comments about Roversmum.
My mod badge has been handed back, there's been a lot of noise about the state of moderation over there, as probably the most active mod in the last 5 years it's only right I fall on my sword; truth is I hadn't put any real effort into it for a long time. I was decent enough once upon a time!
Some things have happened that are unexplained thoughTo be fair, nothing sinister has happened over there. Tom and Mike both decided off their own backs that they'd had enough and wanted to step down which would enable them to go back to normal posting. Although I see Mike wants to be a Mod over here now
Of course you mean Eddie Crossan my idol as a youngster. His dribbling was as good as anybody's I have seen but he was a flawed diamond when it came to the final ball. If the Man City game you mention is the one I am thinking about, Rovers won 4-1, Bert Trautman saved 2 penalties by Les Graham and half the ground thought we had missed a 3rd when Bill Eckersley broke the net with it. That day a lad called Chris Anderson made his debut on the right wing. On one occasion he beat the full back went back pretending to pick up his chewing gum and beat the full back again. He wound the defender up so much he won the three penalties. It looked like we had unearthed an absolute gem but his ego and lifestyle didn't match his ability and he was playing for Lion Brewery in the Blackburn Combination only a few years later.Ha! Its the long, happy memories that make today so hard to take. Never thought that scum like Venkys would be allowed to ruin Rovers.
Who cares? Some things have happened that are unexplained though
