There is a level of professionalism being instilled in these kids down at Brockhall that reminds me so much of the class of 92. They all appear to be good clean cut kids with a terrific work ethic, a high level of professionalism and their feet firmly on the ground. Who is the architect of all this?
Whoever it is it is certainly a massive plus point in attracting young talent to the club. Let's be honest if you were a sensible parent in the north west where else would you want your prodigy to go?

One's defensive midfield and the other is an attacking midfielder. Maybe Tugay could teach him how to strike a ball from distance.

He reminds me more of Simon Barker. Buckley gets forward a bit more than Barker, but Barker was a great technician and had a decent strike rate from midfield, especially after he "filled-out" a bit. Buckley's well away from his peak yet, so he might well emulate, or better, Barker's career.

IMO the likes of Savage acted as the defensive midfielder allowing Tugay freedom to create and dictate from around the centre spot. I wouldn’t describe Tugay as a defensive midfielder.
Maybe Tugay could teach him how to strike a ball from distance.

Elliott Jackson reporting that Buckley has been fully recalled by Rovers. Undergoing two months' rehabilitation. Probably touch and go as to whether he'll feature for us before the season is out.
