We watched Shane for the first time last night. Classic stuff! The bar fight is superb. Shane is a man of few words. That kid, Joey, is a bit of an odd one (did he feature in Deliverance later?!), but it was a fun watch.

We also watched Blazing Saddles the night before. I saw it around 25 years ago, but it's a good laugh. Can you imagine them getting away with that type of movie these days?!

Slight change of scenery tonight as we've got Tootsie lined up.

I'll have to "obtain" Coming to America, too. Another classic (in my eyes) that I saw several years ago but was a good laugh.

I rem the cast of blazing saddles being interviewed. I think it was made 74/75 ish and the entire cast were of the opinion that 18 months later it would never have made it to the cutting room.

Tootsie wasn't really my cup of tea, but Dustin Hoffman is always good to watch. The wife loves that movie, though. Bill Murray also featured with his usual dry humour. What a golden age of actors that era was. I don't think I could name anybody worthwhile off the top of my head in today's era.

I've never seen North by Northwest, but it's next on my list.

I watched Rear Window and North by Northwest.

For one of the most highly-rated films of all time on iMDB, I found North by Northwest somewhat silly. The character of the lead protagonist was extremely cliched, but I suppose it's the era that the film was made. It was OK, overall, but I don't want to watch it again. Wanting to watch a film again is my personal measure of whether or not it's a good film.

Rear Window was really good, I though. Quite psychological and unpredictable. Again, the lead character was somewhat cliched, but I definitely want to watch this again.
