The rest of today's results could have worked better after our heroics at Leeds, there are a lot more wins in that final column that I'd have expected. Still it would be perhaps greedy to expect every result to go our way.

Close of play table looks good. 5 points clear with a better goal difference and only 3 games left. We look home and dry.

It's pity Coventry capitulated at Big Club as I wanted Brum to go down and also I was looking forward to a bit of 'revenge' with us ending the Sky Blue's play-off hopes in our last home game of the season (whereas it's more than likely that will be a total 'dead rubber' now).
Good Point!
I had forgotten about the trilogy of awful decisions and bad luck that cost us the play offs last season - under that shit manager we had then!!
Oh to have the same problems eh

The table is still looking pretty with the teams lowest in the table failing to win. Huddersfield look like they have "gone" - as soon as they conceded a goal today they seemed to give up and ended up getting battered 4-0 at home to a team with "nothing to play for". Very strange considering they were (and still are) just 2 points from safety.
Big Club also failed to win at at Rotherham. AND Huddersfield and Brum play each other next. So it's all looking good.

The ONLY thing that could possibly make it a slightly more nervy for us would be if Sheffield Wednesday were to win at Ewood. Even a draw would be a decent result for us.

Let's leave Sheffield, Plymouth, Brum and Huddersfield to fight it out for the remaining 2 relegation spots whilst we play a couple of boring dead rubbers (with us safe, Coventry out of the play-off picture and Leicester already promoted). Yes or yes?

Spot on Husky. It is up to us to pick up our own points rather than hope the others slip up. I am confident we can do so given our team spirit.

I did not even worry about QPR beating PKE; in fact I had a broad smile…..this is after PKE fans were celebrating winning the league back in November.

Nob end can never ever do us a favour can they? It's not in their genetic make up.

Well Wednesday's Sunday win has certainly spiced things up a bit. I still reckon we will be just about okay, but JESUS CHRIST!

Coventry could well be knackered by the time they come to Ewood on Saturday (especially after their FA Cup semi-final comeback extra-time, VAR goal chalk off, penalty loss efforts) AND they have a tough game against fellow play-off outsiders Hull City on Wednesday (if they don't win that then they will be pretty much out of the play-off picture too).

As already previously mentioned Huddersfield play Big Club on Sat, so they can't both win. Plymouth are at Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday are at home to West Brom (who have not quite managed to secure a play-off spot yet so will have to put a shift in).

And since QPR and Stoke are not mathematically safe yet on account of Birmingham still being able to get 52 points I should add that they both have tough games - home to Leeds and away to Southampton respectively.

QPR are obviously safe now after they battered the scum, so it takes them out of the equation.

All I can say today is COME ON HUDDERSFIELD!

My prediction is that Brum will win at Huddersfield, Plymouth will get a point at Millwall, but Wednesday will get beat at home by West Brom.
So whatever happens - we must not lose at home to Coventry or we will need a point at Leicester on the last day to guarantee staying up.

Nothing to worry about lads. Preston are more likely to be relegated than us according to oddschecker!

Lol. The half time table is looking a bit ropey.
With Weds and Big club winning.

Norwich winning doesn't help our cause either as they will play a reserve team against Birmingham on the last day.

The new hope is probably Plymouth (who I did initially predict to go down).

C'mon The Wall.

Final Day Fixtures:
Leicester v Rovers
Sunderland v Sheff W
Plymouth v Hull
Birmingham v Norwich

In short we need a point (or win) at Leicester to guarantee survival.

Staying up scenario should we lose at Leicester:
As I just said in the Coventry game post, this evening's Hull v Ipswich becomes massive for us (regarding our other get-out clauses should the Champions beat us). We need Hull to win essentially - in doing so it will mean that Norwich will need something at Birmingham on the last day to ensure their play-off spot (instead of playing their save themselves for the play-offs reserve team). Also it will keep Hull just a point behind Norwich meaning that they will still be in with a chance of the play-offs if they win at Plymouth.

It was mentioned (to those not watching in Swedish) that the Millwall goal against Plymouth didn't mean too much regarding our survival. BUT IT DOES, it means Plymouth now have to beat Hull at home (whereas a draw would have been good enough for them to leapfrog us had they managed a point at The Den).

So, if we lose at Leicester then for us to go down it just requires Sheffield Wednesday to get a point or better (at on the beach Sunderland) and Plymouth & Birmingham to win (against potentially on the beach teams should Hull not win in a few hours).

Additionally, if Ipswich lose this evening then Leicester will almost certainly already be Champions by the time they face us and worst case scenario would be that they just need 1 point.

Got that? Haha. Get biting those nails and watching that Sky game . . . .

We could have done without that hammering at Bristol.
