Is anybody watching any of the other games (whilst we wait for our late kick-off)?

West Brom have just equalised at Millwall (there is around 25 minutes left), so if they can keep it level or even get a winner that will keep Millwall in the shite with us.

Bristol City have just beaten Leicester too, which also has a bearing on our game. This means Ipswich will go top if they beat us (temporarily at least) . . that could put extra pressure on them . . . Going top nosebleed incoming?

Pretty decent day for us so far.

Only Stoke winning at Hull went against us. A point for us today would be a good result and mean we will go "2 results" clear of the drop.

I think we are almost but mathematically there now.

I know it keeps being said that our fixtures on paper look difficult, but when you look at some of the other teams you do wonder where they could possibly even get 2 wins from (and they will probably need more).

Not a bad day overall with my tips to go down Plymouth (we're so great at home) losing at home to a team with nothing to play for. Sheffield Wednesday losing AGAIN, Stoke and Udds taking points off each other, Millwall losing to the bottom club. As I have always maintained there were (are) simply too many crap teams down with us for them all to suddenly pick up form all together (not less because a lot of them play each other so they can't all win regardless).

Anyway, a 5-1 smashing of Sunderland has now extended the gap to 5 points with an 11 and 23 better goal difference than the two teams below the dreaded line. So essentially a 2 win swing. We are staying up, almost certainly . . .

We still need to bear in mind that the last time we went down we did so with 51 points.

Strangely after our amazing 0-0 draw we are actually 1 point closer to the relegation zone than we were before kick off though we actually moved up a place.

Results elsewhere were decent enough (though they could not have really been disastrous due to teams below us facing each other).

With 7 teams (not including Rotherham who are already down) still below us things are still looking pretty. I hope we can beat Bristol City next up as I would quite like to start 'supporting' some of the teams down there as ideally I want to see Big Club go down (though they have got a couple of easy fixtures in their remaining 5).

We have gone below a couple of teams since the last table. But it's pretty much as you were with another game ticked off. We have a free hit next up at Leeds where I suspect we will lose by at least 2 goals. Our season will all be about Sunday 21st April . . . . .

Whilst down in the dumps I did my usual prediction spread sheet including the fixtures from QPR to Birmingham for the last 4 games and I’ve cheered myself up!
My predictions are that Birmingham and Wednesday go down with Rotherham. Plymouth surviving on goal difference and Rovers finish on 19th.

You are a brave man Tony, some strange results are happening in this division at the moment.

I know ODB but I needed to cheer myself up! You’re right in that the only certainty about the Championship is it’s uncertainty but the remaining fixtures do offer us Rovers fans some hope!

I watched that too the Plymouth support was magnificent, but I didn’t hear a single peep out of the Leicester fans.
I agree their support was worth an extra man tonight but they still have 3 difficult games against Stoke and Millwall away and Hull at home. Their crowd believe they’re staying up. We could do with that support against Sheffield Wed but our board has decided to give them 7,000 tickets. It beggars belief! They should have made an offer of £10 for adults for the next 2 home games and get our fans to back our boys. It’s not too difficult is it?

It's a tough one this
For a number of reasons I haven't had a season ticket for the last two seasons and with the various offers I would imagine I have paid the same as a s/t holder - which did use to bug me when I had a s/t!!
I noticed they have restricted sales due to Sheff fans trying to get in home areas - can you imagine what that would have been like if they hadn't given them the 7k?
Hopefully we can silence them early and we make some good revenue as we take 3pts

I miss this one as I'm in Cyprus and that is a benefit ot not having a s/t - I don't feel like I am losing out financially
Someone suggested a 15 game season ticket (great idea)- come on Rovers show some initiative!!

The only way we could get dragged back into any relegation talk would be if Huddersfield, Birmingham, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR all win (not gonna happen)

Last night after the game the consensus was that Plymouth were safe on 48 points and we have just gone 1 point above them.

Here is the live table (at 3:15pm after Millwall have just gone ahead. It's looking good. We are staying up (this season at least).

Millwall gone back below us now after Cardiff levelled.

Close of play table looks good. 5 points clear with a better goal difference and only 3 games left. We look home and dry.

It's pity Coventry capitulated at Big Club as I wanted Brum to go down and also I was looking forward to a bit of 'revenge' with us ending the Sky Blue's play-off hopes in our last home game of the season (whereas it's more than likely that will be a total 'dead rubber' now).
