So the Canaries roll up on Saturday on the crest of a decent form wave. The Rovers unfortunately don't have any sort of form at the moment. How strange that we could play so well just a few months ago, invariably having the Lions share of possession in every match whilst now we appear unable to string more than 3 passes together. Whoever said 'it's all about the players on the pitch'? From my perspective the unhealthy atmosphere which has developed behind the scenes at Ewood has superceded all the players efforts. Confidence and that crisp one touch passing game has now since November become a distant memory. Our slump reminds me of Blackpool 77/78 who were top of the Championship at Christmas but ended up getting relegated.
If there is to be some consolation Norwich who are second only to Leeds on current home form don't travel all that well and are currently 19th in the away form table. Check it out... https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/blackburn-rovers/form-guide/away
Just make sure not to look any lower!
Connections..
Grant Hanley and Shane Duffy who excelled for us from time to time as a centre half pairing until the urge to bugger off elsewhere became too much. Duffy is likely to miss this through injury and his place will no doubt be taken by Ben Gibson an ex smoggie and an ex Dingle to boot.
Danny Baath another centre half who by rights should be turning out for us tomorrow but some screw up behind the season saw the deal cancelled. The average age is just short of 33 so all three will be capable but getting past their best., with Gibson at 31 the 'baby' of the central defenders.
Bastard Barnes the Burnley Bruiser. Less said about that git the better. I just wish we could clone his balls and graft them onto the likes of Siggy and Moran. The Gally we've had for 4 seasons could have done with them too but now he smells a summer transfer he's put himself in the shop window and energised himself.
Marcelino Nunez who is a Chilean international and likely BBD's travelling companion.
Oh and not forgetting David Wagner the german manager who got Huddersfield into the play offs and immediately hung us out to dry by making 10 changes to his Huddersfield team against our rivals for the drop Birmingham City. Huddersfield were keen to lose to Brum as they were keen to avoid Fulham in the play offs as the Londoners put 9 past them in two matches during the season! I'm convinced crooked old Arry Redknapp would have the slyness and presence of mind to fix that.
