Huge game tomorrow and need to pick up a win to truly get the season started. For those of a superstitious disposition Rovers won both games I attended last season and I'll probably be there tomorrow. Like I said on other thread though if you believe in that stuff start handing out Rao voodoo dolls!

As I've also said before this fixture has some additional significance for me. While others may see Fleetwood as the most grating fixture it can't be denied exceptionally extenuating circumstances also led to their presence in this division. I recall laughing at Doncaster in 1998 (for being so utterly rubbish though to be fair I had no idea why) so this does feel a bit like a punishment for that lol. As if Venkys regime hasn't been punishing enough!

Would be nice to get a comprehensive victory to boost morale after the Southend loss. Though I'll feel slightly bad if its a complete thrashing (and I'm not saying we should expect that by any means) as Ferguson will probably take out his frustrations by giving his wife one as well.

So it was your fault Vinjay that we went down last season, if you think you were a lucky oman and only went twice. I can't see why Doncaster signifies how far we have fallen. We owe Doncaster for one reason only.....we signed Chris Brown off them!!!

Only attended two games last season Vinjay? Given the depth of feeling with which you post you surprise me! Do you a long way off?

I've already admitted my enthusiasm to attend was limited last season albeit it not an official boycott or NAPM related. I went to Newcastle largely because of timing with my birthday (and used money gifted to me from that which I won back by betting on the win lol) and Villa had cheap tickets though I probably would have gone under normal prices. I was strongly tempted to attend the United home game but it just felt too hypocritical showing up for that. Admittedly I was also concerned about Rovers being hammered but the hypocrisy was a bigger factor. I did go to several home games during Lambert's stint. Still haven't decided whether or not I'm going tomorrow but my intention is to attend several home games this season.

I explained my reasons why Doncaster has extra significance for me. Darren Ferguson being there isn't the reason though its always satisfying beating the likes of him. OK I know Rovers played them in the Championship but this is the first home game of the season and never being outside the top 2 divisions in my lifetime. I still think playing clubs that have been league 1 and 2 mainstays for some time (in a few cases pretty much their whole history) hits harder than the highly extenuating circumstances with Fleetwood.

Yet you obviously possess a great depth of feeling for BRFC. Accepting that fact I do find your attitude to attending rather weird. tbh I could never understand how you could transfer your allegiance to citeh.

Going to try and enjoy this, new seats in the Family stand, three generations going together to the match. Up early on the road, a few in the blues bar then on to a simple win :-|

Going for a Rovers win 3-0

Chatting to a bloke in the Royal Oak tonight who like me has got ST's for the 1st time in 3 seasons and we were both saying how much we were looking forward to a good season. He also went to Southend and we realised how tough a season it was going to be.

I want a convincing win tomorrow to give us confidence. What I want and what I get are different matters.

Before setting off for Southend I spilled yogurt and fruit over my jeans and left foot....we
lost.

This morning I spilled yoghurt and fruit over my clean t- shirt.

Is this an omen? :worried:

Can't afford to be complacent. As favourites, we're a scalp for every team in the league. We have to boss these games.
