Did anyone witness our half time 'warm up' at both Ewood today and at Southend. The Rovers subs played keepy uppey. In fact for the first 5 mins today they had no ball and chatted to each other, no commitment, no interest, no warm up......disgraceful and Mowbray allows this to happen.

The half time 'warm up' was a classic today, something I never thought I would see under Mowbray. We stood watching a bunch of morons flicking ears and laughing. No coach, no dam cones, nothing. It was like a few mates in the park knobbing about, I stood and shook my head in disbelief. The club is the problem top to bottom, the boss is away in the changing room there is no one else watching let's knob about lads it's great here.

Why does every recent new season seem like Groundhog Day?
Lose
Hope it's a one off
Lose again
Lose again
Wonder how long the manager has before he's potted
People suggest alternative managers
Endure more poor results.
Why can't we just grab the division by the balls and have a flier for once??
I think it just comes down to choice of manager. We keep going through the same thing because we keep hiring shit managers. And apologies for my language but that's how strongly I feel about their woeful calibre.

Kean, Berg, Appleton, Bowyer, Coyle and Mowbray. All either no managerial experience or failures with their previous club. These are guys that shouldn't even make it onto the first draft of an extended shortlist. A chess playing Nepalese monk would have enough game sense to look at their records and say don't hire them.

It's baffling, confusing and downright bizarre. I constantly picture all the other boards and owners in football looking at our latest appointment and saying to each other "what the f*** are that lot doing?".

But Raya has never really shown any quality and Steele wasn't as bad as some said but what do I know?

Funny to hear Raya has been poor from quite a few fans now. The fan criticism of Steele was way OTT from what I saw of him last season. Now he's playing for Sunderland and we're stuck with the consistently over-rated quality of youth.
Steele was worse tho from what i seen so far

We need a ball grabber. Someone with nuts, like Flitty, Andy Todd, Glen Keeley or Kevin Moran. What have we got - puff ball Whittingham and soft arse Graham.
You're so right BB . Those guys saw it as a sleight on their professionalism for an opposition player to either get past them or even worse score a goal against them . Rovers currently lack players of character & steel . As I said in an earlier post , we need two proper centre halves & a couple of competent no nonsense full backs .

Until we get a manager who prioritises a mean & hard defence, then things will only go from bad to worse . I always reckoned this Division would be tougher than a lot thought ( I was there when Furphy , Lee and Kendall had some difficult times ) , but this is an awful start and I'm worried our famous blue & white halves will continue the downward spiral .

Spot on - my Burnley supporting brother has been happy with every single managerial appointment ( with the exception of Lambert ) since Big Sam .

He was over the moon when Big Sam got sacked .

It was exactly the same at Southend. No warm up just a stroll and a chat. Something is desperately wrong. We can blame the V's for everything, however we cannot blame them for the team set up, the lack of passion and players who do not give a toss.

I must say I am surprised by Mowbray recently. His team selection for the two matches that I have seen (Southend and Donny) was just crackers. Even worse than the dire and unfathomable selections of Appleton and Lambert. a 3-6-1 hotch potch with 10 defensive players and just one attacking player on the field in Graham (who imo is stealing a living at present) for a home game against Doncaster is just an embarrassment which will live long in the memories of those who were there.
Sure Graham is not getting the best service but he should have the quality and more importantly the mentality and desire to overcome that.

No idea who I'd give MoM to they were all awful. Rather reminscent of when Jones made ht debut v Peterborough and was made MoM I'd probably award to to Dack who along with Gladwin actually put a decent shift in.

As for the rest playing two right backs in Nyambe and Caddis together did not work as neither appeared to know what was expected of them and neither got forward to provide any kind of supply to Graham.

For Ward see Williams below... another basement league plodder that I sussed when he first came. His 'slip' which led to the goal was just awful and only topped by Raya's pathetic attempt to head a through ball away when all he succeeded in performing was a glancing header straight to their CF Marquis to excecute a simple tap in.

Mulgrew. We all know that Charlie Mulgrew is a fine player but he's no left back either and he's just being wasted in that position.

Memo to Mowbray..... To play 3 at the back requires the defenders to be fast and mobile. And guess what? We don't have any on the books that fit the bill!

Midfield? Where do I start? Just a hotch potch. Our headline signing Peter Whittingham is just awful in this midfield. He seems to have the job of taking free kicks now when we ALL know that is one of Charlie Mulgrew's real strengths. Anonymous.

For Williams see Ward! Was just awful playing as left wing back. I said last year that Williams is not a championship player and he's proving my judgement to be correct. His performance yesterday suggests that he's not a Div 1 player either.

Evans ... did try, left his foot in a few times and ended up getting booked. Seemed more frustration than malice.

Smallwood seems an honest enough basement club plodder. Did try but choked up in a foolishly overcrowded midfield jumble.

Bennet again an anonymous display caused by having no room to play in midfield.

Every midfielder ended up passing square or back as no one was available in any space to provide width and an outlet. I must say at this point that Williams did find space on the left a number of times but for some reason it took the rest of the team 2/3 passes to get it to him by which time he was tightly marked.

Dack when introduced solved the problem of having no one to pass to by trying to carry it forward all by himself and looked energetic and determined.

Gladwin saw a marvellous shot into the top right corner produce an equally marvellous save from Lawlor. He showed up well once or twice more but he also committed one or two ricks so I will have to reserve judgement as yet.

Samuel. Not impressed by this lad at Southend but he did score with a decent header yesterday and was far more mobile and covered more ground in 40 minutes than Graham did in 90. Jury is out on all three subs as yet.

The ball is in Mowbrays court. I've no idea what he thought he was doing with that opening formation and even worse apart from a vague attempt (out of desperation) to switch to 3-5-2 I've no idea what his intentions were even then.
I expect Doncaster to be close to the bottom of this Div come May but what do I know? I was quite impressed last week by Southend and expect them to be top 6 material yet yesterday they got thumped 5-0 by Rotherham! What I do know is that unless tactics are changed to suit the players available we are in for another season like the last one.

I know of 3 previously ardent Rovers, they preferred the food festival in Clitheroe today
Were they ardent in the 80's yoda?

People should never lower their contempt for them but sometimes you have to look at the players/manager and say enough's enough. OK owners have a duty to fire a manager at the right time but fans have generally supported Mowbray. Even now there's no complete consensus that he needs to be fired. If Mowbray fails lets wait and see if be blames Venkys or not. Personally I don't think he will.

There was too much focus in the past on certain managers other than the owners. However you can easily express strong contempt towards more than one issue at the same time. I manage it! I blame yesterday on Venkys, Pasha, Cheston, Mowbray, players, Dunn, Walker family, trustees, Anderson, Kean, Lee Grooby etc.

Some might say I've missed a few but there's a character limit (generally) on twitter lol.

Flys out to pune, privately agrees to lose initial matches as odds will be high for a kick back. Gets sacked with Rovers in the relegation zone at christmas with an extra years pay out to conclude business pune style. Venkys cash out on bet365 prior to dismissal and everyones a winner except rovers, yet again.
