As the first match of the new season is only a few days away, it's time to start the predictions thread again.
Everyone is welcome to join in and don't worry if you miss a few matches as it is easy to catch up points if you can just predict a few correct scores.
I've made one slight change to the rules from last season, so here they are:
1. Please post your prediction in the match thread and NOT this thread. The latest table will be posted to this thread after the match finishes.
2. Predictions must be posted before kick-off.
3. Predicting the correct result wins 3 points (e.g. you predict 2-1, the score is 2-0)
4. Predicting the correct score wins 5 points (please note, you don't get 2 points for correct result as well, just 5)
5. Rule 5 is a new rule for this season to reward those who go for the more outlandish scorelines and get them right. It is:
If you predict the correct score and the winning team scored 3 or more, you get a bonus point for every goal the winning team scored above 2.
So, basically, if you predict 3-1 and are correct, you get 5 points for correct score plus 1 point bonus for the predicting 3 goals.
If you predict 5-0 and are correct, you get the 5 points plus 3 bonus points for predicting 5 goals.
If you predict a high-scoring draw, for example 3-3, then you'd get 5 points plus a bonus point for each team as there wasn't a winner and both teams scored more than 2, so 7 points in total.
If Rovers are involved in any penalty shoot-outs, the score used for the prediction league will be that at the end of extra time BEFORE penalties.
If two people are tied on points, precedence will be determined by:
Most correct scores. If this is the same then
Most bonus points. If this is the same then alphabetical order.
The final table cannot be decided on alphabetical order, it will be a tie if players can't be separated by correct scores or bonus points.
Good luck!
