Oddly enough that doesn't give me all that much satisfaction. Paid off waiting to see the teams before I committed though.

So, while I sacrificed my prediction for the good of the team, quite a few of you scored some points last night.
Pick of the bunch goes to Steve Moss, who correctly predicted 3-0 and gets the maximum 5 points - obviously drinking did the trick Steve ;)
Quite a few in and around the twenties now but OOT still well out in front on 36 - can he be caught?

Top 6! Finally.

And drinking (I mean meditating) almost always does the trick. :)

So, some of us are finally latching on to the fact that predicting a Rovers defeat pays off at the moment (I'm not one of them ).
Not surprised that Drog is furious about Wednesdays 4th goal as it was the difference between 2 points and 5 points for him.
Well done to everyone else who picked up 2 points.

Four impressive wins on the trot Aston Villa next

It’s not if , but by how many - unless TM parks the bus :)

We do seem to have met many teams in a rich vein of form this season.

New predictions table and yet another weekend of being rewarded for predicting a Rovers defeat.
Quite a few 2-pointers around but only one 5-pointer, so congratulations to Drog, who boldly enters into the thirties.
Unfortunately for him (and the rest of us) OOT becomes the first to 40 points, so well done that man.

Starting to run out of games now but I'm still looking a good bet for automatic promotion though.:)

Yet another bonanza day for those who backed the opposition.
This week that means just Steve W and Barmitzvah Boy, so well done the pair of you on getting 2 points a piece.

Here is the new table

I was denied another 5 pointer in consecutive matches by the width of the bloody bar! Not helped by the rovers players rank inability to cross a ball.

For a change it didn't pay to predict against our team last night.

All of those who went for a Rovers win were rewarded with 2 points, apart from our top-of-the-table man OOT, who correctly predicted 2-0 and collected another 5 points (as if he hasn't enough already!)
How the heck do you predict us to not only win but to also keep a clean sheet after recent games?

The rest of us can only hope he does a Devon Loch ;)

The race for 2nd and 3rd is much tighter though and 25 points can still be won over the remaining 5 matches.

Crystal ball? Tardis?
I must say 2-0 was never in my thoughts. I settled on 2-1 eventually after seeing the teamheet, until then I was going 1-1.

It is quite important ODB.
Careful though cos rem I had points chalked off for posting about the opposition team first and before making my prediction a couple of mins after KO. It's easy to do when one's sometimes on the last minute.

Cheers WB and thanks for all the work you do on the prediction league .

Why did I forecast 2-0 ? A clean sheet from one of the leakiest defences in the league ?

Well I looked at the Derby team , managed by an ex premier league success story . I’ve found that the likes of Lampard tend to want their teams to play pretty football , lots of triangles going nowhere , tending to over play it from the back . It’s the type of football that bores me to tears .

If teams lay off then they can get into trouble . At home Rovers tend to press and play with intensity and physicality against these sorts of teams , winning the 50 /50 s , hunting down the ball in packs and then breaking at speed . That’s the type of football that has me on the edge of my seat .

I also thought that Derby wouldn’t play long balls into the box as they haven’t a Sam Vokes , Jay Rodriguez et al type bully up front . Our defence , with the exception of Lenihan, can’t cope with a physical and aggressive forward line . To me Derby are the opposite of that .

So with little to worry about at the back it was just a matter of Rovers scoring . With Dack back I thought we had every chance !

Easy to explain after the match and if anyone believes all that mumbo jumbo they’ll believe anything :joy:
